Greenspan‘s race to the top of the hip-hop game may only be in its beginning stages but, now that the DMV up-and-comer’s gotten moving, there are precious few who can Keep Up. On leak number two off his forthcoming Got Green mixtape, the DMV native sets out to prove once and for all that he has the speed, stamina and the determination to make it. Mark Henry‘s uniquely fresh boardwork, which builds from a tense cymbal rhythm to an explosive chorus, sets the stage for ambitious bars from Greenspan and an increasingly ubiquitous DMV neighbor; also featured today on Kingpen Slim‘s The Way You Move, Phil Adé steps up to the mic for a solo guest verse as well as joining the headliner for a little line-trading on the back end. With a relentless hustle, formidable mic skills and talented connects, is it any wonder that Greenspan’s rising faster than the national debt (phew – I was worried I wasn’t going to be able to work a dorky economics reference into this one)? If you need a little extra Green in your life (and who doesn’t?), be sure to check out this emcee’s new, Booth-sponsored street album when it hits our front page July 12.

I'm sorry, but the DMV is on fire right now. Everything I've heard from both Green and Phil (whose new album is available at the Booth foe download) as of late is outstanding and "Keep Up" is no different.

Both MC's flows were nice on this track, and i love the energy. Aspects of this production were strange, but it made it interesting, and i love when the horns come in on the hook.

As everyone already knows after my review of The Letterman, I'm a huge Ade fan right now, and I'm digging Greenspan more and more with every track (his voice reminds me a little of Magoo). This one's a guaranteed head-nodder - I dare you not to feel this.

The beat is interestingly different. This is not at all what I was expecting from Greenspan. The Hi-Hat really gives a feeling of running through alleys in the city. The sample gives it that "70's chase scene" feel. Great flows on it too. Pleasantly suprised, I shouldn't have been though. What else would you expect from a DMV native but greatness?
