When Gorilla Zoe released his debut single, Hood N*gga, in early ‘07, it led to radio and street success, which in turn led to his solo debut, Welcome to the Zoo. One year later, the Block Ent/Bad Boy South artist hopes to rebuild his buzz with a sophomore set, entitled Don’t Feed The Animals. The official first single, I’m Dumb, follows a nearly-identical formula to Hood N*gga: the intro verse begins immediately, followed by the hook and three eight-bar verses alternating with the refrain, and finishing off with the same intro. Although this style has proven successful for Zoe before, will the pattern once again catch on with audiences? Find out this summer, when Big Block and Diddy push I’m Dumb to the airwaves.
Sounds like Zoe is trying to follow the same formula from Hood *igga. He brings a cool intro, lets the beat drop, and then starts going at it. This song is pretty hot, one of the better ones Ive heard from him. As long as he is not using the voice box again, I can put this song into rotation!
"Smoking on that misletoe" LOL. Yeah, he's exactly what the song is called. Production was decent and flow was okay. Gorilla essentially is wack, but I like how his raps be sounding sing songy, so I can tolerate listening to it.
Gorilla Zoe's music is hit-or-miss with me. Sometimes he does a good job and other times ... he doesn't sparkle. This is one of those times he didn't deliver the good. Beat is ok, lyrics ok, and production is ok.
no..no..(u kno da sayin by now but if u dont) aall wrong. not feelin dis either. second "all wrong" today im on a roll. He really is dumb releasin a track like dis.
This is one of those "wait a second... didn't Zoe come out with this song last year?" type-of-songs. His flow is exactly the same as last year (as Burmy so kindly pointed out) and unfortunately for him, repetitiveness isn't a reason to return to his music. This will garner regional airplay only.
yeah this song aint that great but i think it should get more than a 2.5 compared to all the other crap out there that gets the same. and to you haterz GZo's voice is dope and the majority of @*#$! he puts out is def. above average
ya know what, i can't figure it out, but somethin about gorilla zoe just gets me on every track...his tracks always me laugh OUT LOUD, in a good way. he makes it sounds simple like he don't give a f*ck about anybody! i respect it, and he gets on some grimy beats with pretty catchy lyrics
i'm a huge zoe fan, still playin his first album off and on.... but for some reason it seems like this song is missing that raspy voice zoe is famous for. i think that is what set him apart from all the other up and coming rappers, without it this is just an alright track
