Many of you will remember when Gorilla Zoe launched his first assault against the DJBooth charts with the original version of Don’t Feed Da Animals track Echo. The haters came out in full force, and the battle was fierce. Eventually, Gorilla Zoe had retreated, but he vowed to someday return and have his vengeance.  Now,  Echo‘s back for the second go-round, with one key difference: this remix features a guest verse from R&B superstar Ne-Yo, whose catchy bars may well take the opposing forces by surprise. Whether or not the haters will survive this next skirmish, one thing is for certain: Gorilla Zoe came prepared for a fight. Zoe devotees and converted doubters alike can get a closer look at the emcee’s battle plans by picking up a copy of his second studio album, which is available now.

GZ has turned into a folk singer. LOL and I like it! Echo was ok, this is alil better to me with the addition of Ne-Yo. By the way he needs to record a studio version of " The lady in My Life" by MJ the Great. That was a perfect rendition!

I've said it before... I'll say it again: I think a true remix needs to have all different verses or some considerable change other than the addition of one guest verse. I liked the original so the only thing I'm going to base the rating on is Ne-Yo. He sounded fresh!

I loved the original, but wasn't feelin this as much. And this is coming from a Ne-Yo fan. The beat isn't as good as the original.

I agree with that1kid13 on this... Zoe just shouldn't sing, it just doesnt sound right for him. I'm not even going to consider the NeYo addition on this remix in my rating, because it takes to long to get to and the song isn't even worth listening to to get to that point.

huge zoe fan, rooting for this single to take off, and this might help...the ne-yo verse was good, also changed some lyrics in verse 2 and the beat is tweaked in a few spots. better than the version with diddy, but not a hit record. he should put it out "i got it" to the ubran stations down south i think that would catch on.

Gorilla Zoe gets NO RESPECT, let's make that clear. He's just a mercenary.

But... like with the original, I look at this as a complete virtual song, electronic, what matters is the final result... which is a song that doesn't have that bad of a melody and a decent beat.

As for Gorilla Zoe?! -_- He's as real as the Gorillaz!

This is a LOVE it or HATE it record - just like the original version, of course. Zoe completely sold out to make a crowd pleasing, mainstream, club-worthy, radio playing record, BUT Auto-Tune or not its catchy. Real catchy. Not my thing, personally, but the girls go wild when this drops in the club.

Ne-Yo's contribution was wasted on the third verse, but overall this can be rotated in my book.

Zoe's just a Mercenary - Dude is following instead of being creative and doing him.
But Neyo steps in and dishes out some nice rhymes over a commanding beat ... Okay.

judging by all the comments I guess it is a love it or hate it record, but i am stuck in the middle on this one i like the song but i have this feeling if this was a Sean Kingston song it would be a big hit but not for Gueriella Zoe

I mean the original is much better but I have to applaud zoe for doing something different with it. Neyo's verse is real nice. Zoe's cd is tight people can hate if they want but a good cd.

It's catchy, sounds good in a club, and chicks dig it. Can't deny the facts. Let's see if the remix gives it even more momentum.

im an artist so i paint to songs like this and the ones on 808's and heartbreaks, so in my book its a banger. i definately vibe to it..but as far as the rap game goes im sure zoe just did this track for the ladies/clubs. neo didnt really make this track a whole lot better but he was aight

Gorilla Zoe isnt suited to this kind of track at all...not to mention it is bland and uninteresting. Ne-yos verse was unnessary...the orginal song was boring, why waste time putting an exceptional singer like ne-yo on this track?? his talents could have been put to good use elsewhere...

I'm normally a huge hater of Auto-Tune, such as every time Kanye West uses it...nevertheless, in this song it gave Zoe an interesting sound, and I think I could definately work this in my playlist somewhere. And I was just wonder, you could really here when Ne-yo first started singing, which I wasn't a fan of, but then someone else started in a slightly deeper voice. Was that Zoe or did Ne-yo finally hit puberty?
