Though Trouble wasn’t slated for official promotion when Ginuwine released it back in June, those who read the accolades showered upon the track by Booth readers, as well as our own Nathan S., won’t be surprised to hear that the record has now been chosen as the third single off A Man’s Thoughts, or that the it’s already spawned two remixes. Recorded in addition to a St. Louis-themed revamp featuring Chingy, Jibbs, and other STL natives, this Down South Remix is making its exclusive world premiere in the Booth. While Hurricane Chris certainly fits well here, many will be tempted to rate unusually low because of Gucci Mane and OJ Da Juiceman‘s guest bars. Nonetheless, G’s vocals (confined here to the hook) and Inferno‘s beat (Nathan was right—it does sound kinda like I’m A Flirt) are both as ear-pleasing as ever, and should ensure that this version of the track doesn’t get too much Trouble from the haters.

So when i saw the features, i did not expect these verses to be lyrical. They all did alright. Wish ginuwine woulda had a verse though.

I'm afraid it's all a bit of a mess. The features did not mesh well with the original Ginuwine verses. Unfortunately, it was a mediocre remix for a mediocre song... and I'm a huge Ginuwine fan. The original didn't really show off his range or emote to the audience, which is really what made his old stuff great.

Oh god, im not seeing this. Ginuwine collaborating with Hurricane Chris, gucci Mane and OJ Da Juiceman.......
Okay, now that ive calmed down, these verses dont go with the production or ginuwine that well. I mean, Gucci Mane and Oj Da Juiceman already suck lyrically, but they really dont sound good on here especially. Hurricane Chris was alright. I thought that the original was a banger, but this is definitely mediocre. |

Yeah, like Obecalp said, this song is just kind of a mess. None of the verses sounded good and these are artists who really have to ride the beat for them to sound good and the production didn't really suit them.

I wonder if Ginuwine realizes that probably 90 percent of his fan base cant stand gucci? BUT I shoulda known this was gonna happen .... This Remix is the exact opposite of the Original.

I was a big fan of the original version. In fact, I remember mentioning that a longer Bun B verse (or second verse) would have been dope. I can't say I am huge fan of these guest contributors, but Chris have been growing on me for a few years now. Okay...

I hated all the verses..And I really can't stand OJ..I really don't see how this guy can be a professional rapper..And I really don't like hating on people..but he is just too much..

OJ is the WORST RAPPER ever, there's no excuse for his pathetic repetitive flow to be used EVERYTIME he touches (ruins) a song! It's ridiculous! He uses the SAME lazy flow for ANY beat and brings the song to his retarded level! 0_o Geez... I love Soulja boy and Hurricane compared to this crap! And all that is coming from a guy who's on vacations on a tropical island! :p I know I won't remember this in a few minutes, going to the beach now! Miss the booth activity, hope all members are having great vacations! |

When I heard "Gucci" at the beginning, my hopes were low. Hurricane Chris actually did decent though! I was especially worried about Gucci and OJ, known for being hella annoying. I was right, Gucci sucked hard. OJ was ok, almost as bad as Gucci.
First version was a classic, this is a downgrade. |
