When the fictional city of Metropolis was created as the stomping grounds for the DC comic book hero Superman, it was modeled after the Toronto skyline and the atmosphere of New York City. Although Philadelphia is unfamiliar with the iconic super hero first hand, it has been blessed with five men of hip-hop steel. Representing the “City of Brotherly Love,” MCs Gillie The Kid, Black Deniro, Oschino, Peedi Peedi and E. Ness have come together for Superman (the remix). With a beat that sounds jacked from the movie, Chipmunks Great Adventure (don’t act like you’ve never seen it), all five rappers discuss what is “super” about their daily lives and how it relates directly to their rapping skills.
I have to admit that I like the beat they used, it definitely has that superhero/western movie charm to it. Personally, I thought the concept would be stupid, but I can't hate on it. Essentially, it's a novel song, not really a 'club' track or a great track... just really different.
Wild, Wild, West is in the house. Nice beat. The lyrics are solid--extra points for being creative with the rhyming. This song has potential for something, but I don't know what.
First off, I think this beat is just terrible. But It does fit the super-hero anthem they are going for, but its still corny-sounding. I honestly haven't ever heard Gillie rap before...I only hear him talking smack about lil wayne and cassidy, but he isn't even close to the level of either one of those dudes. I don't think he is good on this track. I still like Peedi's flow! His latest mixtape was Hot! E. Ness needs to drop that album already. He does the best on this beat.
MUCH better then I expected, the beat is off da hoook and they lyrics and flow on point, can't hate on it. "I'm da whole DVD, you da bonus footage" HAHA gimme dat
yeah they coulda used another sample to have a comic book anthem, and no i never saw that chipmunks movie. When did it come out? yeah i was 4 years old... but back to the song, they take themselves waaaaay too seriously for the corny beat
Nothing special....expected a lot more...Ness done lost all his hunger from when he was on making the band...Peedi C R A C K hold it down as always...never heard of blck deniro until now but he was aight....might be too early for me but dont even remember hearing Oschino on the track, lol and Gillie aint do nothing to impress me..hook is stupid weak also
I'm a fan of the beat. Although it is corny at first, I really enjoyed it eventually. Lyrics go hard if you actually listen, good theme to them. Gillie keep hustlin.
