Gilbere Forte' - Please Don't Worry
Artist: Gilbere Forte'
Producer: Kidnap & Ransom
Album: Ashley Outrageous Presents: The Playlist Vol. 2 Mixtape
Label: EPIC
The only thing you can expect from Gilbere Forte’ is the unexpected, and the latest change of pace from the DJBooth Freestyle Alum is Please Don’t Worry. In contrast to the indie oriented 1st Floor, and his smoothed out previous feature Last Nite, Please Don’t Worry is built on an occasionally overwhelmingly complex beat from the fantastically named production duo Kidnap & Ransom that’s part video game, part stoner anthem and part outright banger. Lyrically Mr. Forte is equally complicated, displaying a bravado on the first verse that transitions into more sober contemplations by the time the song wraps: “The path you walk on, you may never run on / Chasing a life through the night, even when the sun gone.” There aren’t many emcees who could pull off a cut like Please Don’t Worry – luckily Gilbere is one of them. If you were digging this selection, and past leaks from Laws (Lady Hip Hop) and Phil Adé (Break Me Off), you’re going to want to get yourself over to AshleyOutrageous.com to cop her recently released The Playlist Vol. 2 mixtape, out now.

Love what Gilbere delivers, and his love for the booth scores brownie points. This sure was a different change of pace from previous offerings, but damn it sure was hot. The diversity this dude brings should land him a deal soon, and if not I only see his following growing with records like this that will have the internet buzzing.

Every time this man steps into the Booth he changing things up. And I, for one, love it. He might not have a "sound," but he does have a style and that is unique.

I remember when i first started using Djbooth.net, Gilbere was one of my first listens, and he instantly became one of my favs. He is such a talented person. The production is unbelievable from Kidnap & Ransom. Wow. Also, Gilbere really does great on his verses. This is a banger for sure.

Not really impressed, the flow and the production are both a little awkward.
