While I realize that I’m more likely to be struck dead by lightning while on my way to cash in a 100 million-dollar Powerball ticket than to become a nationally-known celebrity on the strength of my DJBooth.net track reviews, I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t, on occasion, daydreamed about superstardom. There’s nothing wrong with indulging in fantasy every now and again but, as Miami emcee (and freestyle series alum) GhostWridah sagely observes on mixtape leak Still Not Famous, the burning desire to be in the spotlight has its share of pitfalls. Over a haunting, piano-driven beat beat by frequent production collaborator Miami Beat Wave (assisted by local hip-hop group ¡Mayday!), Ghost offers his intricately-flowed reflections on the price of success, assuring listeners that he’s got his own priorities straight: “Motherf*ck fame – I’m tryin’ to get me a home.” Here’s hoping the emcee can maintain his philosophical outlook when the bright tomorrow forecasted in the title of his forthcoming street album, In Love With My Future, arrives. The IMFlashy.com/DJBooth.net-cosponsored project has yet to receive a solid release date, but fans can, of course, keep it locked for all the latest.

Excellent. Just excellent. This is the reason why you cannot sterotype an entire region and peg their artists to a specific sound. If you didn't know any better, would you guess that Ghost is from Miami? I don't think so. Talent and music quality is always the most important factor in this game.

This dude Ghost just impressed the hell outta me. His flow was tight and even when he switched up on the 3rd verse with a slower pace, it was just as hot. The beat sounded great as well and went with the mood of the song. The singer's voice was the perfect mix with Ghost and the beat, only if it would of ended smoother and not seem like it just cut off. Still great song, I can't wait for more from GhostWridah.

The best records are when artists share their inner feelings on the track. I could definitely hear Ghost's passion on here. Hook fit real well with the rest of the song.

Hook sounds like an Imogen Heap sorta voice. It's good, lovin' Ghostz flow on the beat, you can hear how much he really wants to make it, I hope he does.

Damn, just damn. The production is epic, the hook is hypnotizing and the verses drive it home. Stop fronting like you're hard Gs, you love this. You just do.

It's a song that, long after I clicked "stop," resonated in my head all day.

Something you don’t playback for mere entertainment but rather something which invites for a close, rich and full listening experience.

Over his last two featured joints, GhostWridah has made a fan out of me. "Red Bottoms" is a must-listen as well.

My Pick for Track of the Day.

I'm not fully clicked into the production, but the synths are a nice touch. Especially with the Imogen Heap mimic voice for the hook! I could just imagine much more groovy back percussion and a little more clarity in the all together-ness. I don't know, I just think it needs a make-up touch before it goes onto the show.

Theme song of the illest overloooked artist on the glistenin bench of djbooth.net, its a shame that if you don't follow the leader, you'll be stuck wishing you were famous. Hook is money and Ghost lays it down easy! Although was it just me or did he sound a lil like Drake on the 3rd verse...just sayin

Thank you Z for introducing this gut to me. He is one of the few rappers who can actually rap about relevant matters in his life and society and still crank out hits. Can't wait to hear his new project.

Wow this is my fav from GhostWridah...defenitly.... I liked his previous work, but this is really great from him. I love the hard banging beat this has... its a real head banger.... Also, i love his flow on his verses and the chorus is very catchy in this. The production from Miami Beat Wave is crazy good. I cant wait to see more from him.
