GhostWridah - Skittles And Iced Tea
Artist: GhostWridah
Producer: DJ Relly Rell
Album: None
Label: The L.Y.F.E Music
Coming on the heels of offerings from Reef the Lost Cauze (The Prey) and Plies (We Are Trayvon), the latest Booth feature from reader fave GhostWridah finds the Miami emcee sharing his own reflections on the Trayvon Martin shooting and its larger societal resonance. On Skittles & Iced Tea, DJ Relly Rell‘s understated production sets the mood as the emcee calls on listeners to come together in solidarity against senseless violence and institutional racism. Singer Nehemie contributes a guest chorus. This poignant cut isn’t attached to any larger project but, as always, fans can keep it locked for further news and tunes from GhostWridah.

Its hard to comment on the motivation/inspiration behind the song, that was obviously done in good taste. In terms of execution, including the controversial cover art, I think Ghost did an admirable job. I would have liked it if the BPM count was just a little bit slower.

GhostWridah is not one of the best newcomers in the rap game for no reason, and this song gives that thought a leg to stand on.
