FNF lieutenant-in-charge GemStones continues to step out on his own with Unappreciated. With the release of this Gnarls Barkley-esque he-say/she-say track, produced by Omen, the Southside Chicago talent hopes to generate the same buzz he saw from his introductory single, We On, featuring Lupe Fiasco. Representing the other side of the song’s lovers’ quarrel, female singer Chu Chu easily holds her own against Stones’s double-time rapping. With this display of creativity and insight, the rapper formally known as Gemini should have no problem convincing fans to check out his forthcoming debut, Troubles of the World, due out the first quarter of 2009.
This track was interesting, I haven't been able to focus on it much, but it was wayy different than what I expected from Gemstones after listening to his previous tracks and his mixtape (which I couldn't get into, despite my bias). but i like this, liked the feel, in rotation
I like the primise of the track. But the sound is terrible. GemStones is trina come different and lyricly I can relate. But that 80s bs sound is not for me.
My man Gem oozes talent. He can sing just as well as he can rap, and vice versa. How bout them apples 50? Ja? Em? This is just a little taste of what you can expect off his forthcoming release. He is going to blow up next year... mark my words.
Oh yeah...This one's a CLASSIC right there! LOVE the rock & roll sound whenever it's used in hip-hop. Asylum neets to get the ball rolling on "Troubles of the World" now!
(P.S. Any truth to the hubhub I've been hearing about GemStones teaming up with GLC and Fam-Lay for a CRR (Child Rebel Reserve) group?)
This production is very interesting. It's really creative, but also borderline annoying. I loved "Go Baby" though. As it continued though, I really do it. The hook is off the chains. It had my head bopping. People are so flippin' closed minded man. Y'all really make me sick. The subject matter of this was great. LOL...."I don't know who's more important, John Madden or me!". Chu Chu did her thing. I liked the rap breakdown as well. I can't wait for "Troubles of the World". It's been a long time coming for GemStones man. I could hear Lupe smashing a remix to this, definitely! This type of single will sky rocket him! It's very neutral....definitely some MTV primetime material. To clear it up, GemStones is an R&B artist AND rapper. Singer AND rapper. This showed both sides of him, and I felt it was highly creative. WOW:), I've been sticking up for you lately and respect your opinion girl, but to say it's not hip hop is kind of silly. It's not "your" type of hip hop, but it's hip hop nevertheless. It's also a plethora of other genres as well. People are so afraid of innovation and creativity in our urban music genres and so many people miss out on great music. The fan population really needs some enlightening. That's just my two cents...and then some!
k ma bad...thiz iz jus not tha type of hip hip that i like- i'll think b4 i write a lil betta. p.s tho- thanx michael for one of tha thingz u said to me when saxyman said that stupid comment.
