Game - Big Money
Artist: Game
Producer: Cool & Dre
Album: The R.E.D. Album
Label: Aftermath/Geffen/Interscope
Don’t call him “The Game”, and don’t call Big Money a comeback. (Seriously, don’t. He just goes by “Game” now.) After the now new school west coast emcee watched his lead single Krazy go over with the DJBooth about as well as a Kanye track at a Taylor Swift concert, Game is back to try to win us over with Big Money, a minimalistically produced head-nodder from Cool & Dre that’s heavy on claps and grinding, electronic synths. For his part Game spits verses that are as well crafted as ever, but lack his trademark grit, relying instead on clichéd lines like “I got big money, it’s like I’m a movie star” to try to win over the crowd. If Krazy and Big Money are any indication, Game has dropped his street ways in favor of a much more swagger-friendly sound. How will longtime fans feel about Game’s shift in musical style? We’ll find out right now, and when his upcoming The R.E.D. Album drops on Dec. 8.

Aside from the beat (which I think another emcee or two could murk), this song is awful. I cannot begin to explain how disappointing Game's new material has been. Actually, I don't need to bother - just listen for yourself.
When I spoke with Rock City a few weeks back, they said they had worked with Game on a few records. He told them, "This is the most important stage of my career." Really? The most important stage and this is the corny-ass record you come with? "Big Money"? Man, I am speechless. |

Just feature "Better Days" on here, not this crap that he's had the last few days, i guarantee that would get great reviews, a 5 from me!
such a bad song, like KFLOW, i cant wait til the album drops, but these singles (Krazy and this) are just throw away tracks, he should just leak LA Girl, guaranteed to be a hit yea this hook is awful Better Days 10x> Krazy 5x> Big Money |

Man why all the low ratings??
This song is HOT!! I've had it for a while and i'll agree the hook needs work, but other than that the verses are good!!!! Yall need to watch 1500 or Nothin's videos on YOUTUBE in which they are doing some serious studio sessions with GAME and the beats are ridiculous!! R.E.D Album coming soon!! |

This isnt the type of track i want to hear from The Game, though its still a 1000 times better then the crap that is 'Krazy'. The production is tight from Cool & Dre & The Game's rhymes are fair dope. The only problem I have with this track is the hook, though its still better then the crappy hook on Krazy.
Production = 4.5 The Game = 4 Hook = 2 @Z - 1 Star? Really? |

This beat is miles ahead of that ish from yesterday. It goes hard. But face it people, Game never was that good of a lyricist. It was all dope beats. He can't carry anything. Dr. Dre can make almost anyone sound good.

The chorus is a reference from Mind Playin Tricks On Me by Geto Boyz so its not just Game coming up with some commercialized rap. He's simply playing homage in this song, like he does in just about everyone of his songs to legends of rap.
I honestly thought the beat was pretty good. Game seemed out of his element here though, but in the end I think he did better on this track than most rappers these days would of. |

Yeah this is weak. Production is OK but I mean come on. Game has got to stick to what he does best. Club songs (I guess this is a club song but a weak one nonetheless) or heartfelt lyrical songs. This isn't creative at all, sounds like he was lazy writing the lyrics and coming up with the hook, and the song, ultimately was boring.

As is with Game, the production is great, but what is with his flow on here. It's awful, and that hook, damn...I have head a lot of other tracks from this album, and why he is releasing these types of tracks as singles or even on the album at all is beyond me.

Z, I hear you on that 1 star. This is crap. I mean "i think imma movie star", its like he tried to cram that line into the chorus... resulting in a rushed mess.

I agree that this is a lil cliché' for Game. It's like he's rapping as if he's from the south or something.
But, with that being said, I'd be a lie if I said I didn't like this record at least just a little bit. He had some clever lines throughout as well. The "February" line about car rims and the Will Smith/Hancock double entendre. I'd like to her Drake on a remix to this. |

I have to say I'm confused about The Game, excuse me, Game's new direction. Where the west coastin? Where's the lyricism? Come on, I could name 100 dudes that could make this song, and Game is better than all 100 of em. If you're a Game fan and you're loving this record you must have a short memory. Go listen to "Dreams" and then tell me he's not better than this.

Yea, Game is much better than this. He still has his trademark name dropping, car talk, and Dre shoutouts, but there's nothing more than imitation swagger. The hook was awful. I know 50 said they were bout to drop Game until 50 started writing hooks for him and well, that looks plausible now. I'm a big Game fan, but this song is weak. I second everything 1_O-TYME_1 said.

^Let me sum it all up^
While Cool & Dre's production does manage to entertain and even make ya neck snap, Game's unimpressive verses, silly braggadocio on hook make this joint much better to look at on paper than what it is lyrically to listen to. Okay at very best. I sort of just get the impression that this is a buzz track... Wouldn't be at all surprised if this finds it's way off the new album.... |

@Nathan - I completely agree with what your saying, though I still dont see how this song warrants getting 1 or 2 star ratings. This isnt The Game that we want to hear, though it still sounds better then a-lot of music I hear on the radio or download off the net.
I swear some of the members (including some residents) have rated low because of Z's rating. Other then the hook, I dont hear anything that warrants such negativity feedback & ratings |

Like I said before Game's one my favorite mainstream artists. But I'm not really feelin this track either. I was really excited for the R.E.D. album, but the two tracks I've heard so far are not that impressive to me. I was gonna rate 3 stars, but it doesn't deserve to be in rotation. I love the beat though.

WOW....very unimpressed with this one. I didn't expect this at all from Game. I was hoping all these people on here were listening to a different track, but obviously that's not the case. Game is so lyrical and the fact that the hook is as weak as it is, is dissapointing to say the least. The hook doesn't need a little work, it needs to be taken out all together, it might actually make the song better. smh @ Game.

I have to say, I was really disappointed with this! Game's given us some really good singles in the past few years - "My Life", "Dope Boys" - but this isn't even mixtape worthy. The hook is actually irritating, and sounds forced. But on the plus, Cool & Dre did a good job on the production.
Game is one of my favourite rappers, and if "The R.E.D. Album" is his final record, and "Big Money" is one of the records he will bow out to, things aren't looking good for Jayceon. However, I loved "L.A.X." and I will still be checking for Dec. 8th. "L.A. Girl" cannot leak any faster. |

The "it's like I'm a movie star" part is horrible to the point of gettin you angry. Literally, it changes my mood to an undirected anger. Someone might get a punch if I listen to this around people.
Beat is kinda hot. |

Damn...What happened on this track? This doesn't sound like Game's real flow. This sounds like he was very lazy while writing this track. I'm not feeling the beat and the rhymes just sound somewhat elementary with no real thought needed to comprehend...Just too basic for me.
