For some, the spotlight can be both daunting and bothersome. For others, it’s never too bright. If you are a female in the latter category, G Fiive might just be the man for you. The Mobile, Alabama rapper has a weakness for ladies who can handle the pressure of flashing cameras and red carpets. The remix of his new song, Spotlight, is a starstruck ode to sexy celebrities. While G Fiive won’t dazzle you with his lyrics, he makes the track work by conveying a certain adolescent swagger – similar to how Bow Wow did before he dropped the Lil’ from his name. Producer Swole contributes a flashy, horn-filled beat, while guests Bobby V and Joe Gutta take care of the hook. The Spotlight remix appears on Greg Street Presents: The G Fiive Fatburger Mixtape.

It seems like Bobby V has been getting A LOT more work since he shared with me (and the DJBooth world) that he left the batcave at Def Jam/DTP. As for G Fiive, Charlie said it best... has Bow Wow type swagger, but can spit okay. Swole provided a very very nice beat. Enjoyable.

Bobby V's vocal swag was way up on this one! He came strong with it. G Fiive is nothing special to me, as well as this topic of the track. Overall, Mr. "Pimpin All Over The World" shined the most on this track.
