Fuze The Mc - Lullaby
Artist: Fuze The Mc
Producer: Misfit
Album: WIth All Due Respect
Label: Unsigned
It’s been a minute – almost six months, actually – since we’ve heard from Fuze The Mc – what’s the Southern up-and-comer (and exclusive freestyle series contributor) been up to since this past February, when he hooked up with the Booth to drop his sophomore street release? Well, despite what the title of his latest single may lead you to believe, he most definitely hasn’t been sleeping on the job; on the contrary, Lullaby finds Fuze in the grips of insomnia, staring at the ceiling as deep thoughts race through his mind. Over Misfit‘s downbeat acoustic-guitar boardwork, the artist delivers stream-of-consciousness musings on life, art and the struggle: ”Music calms the soul, and in the midst of the most life-changing of woes, it turns pain into prose and that prose into rhythms that can make the largest of mountains move.” Topped off with the smooth vocal stylings of hookwoman Talibah, this track should strike a chord with anyone who’s ever lost sleep in pursuit of a big dream. For more, check out the artist’s third street album, WIth All Due Respect, when it drops this fall.

I like how the beat isn't sticking out or anything, just a simple rhythm in the background. This is a good thing because it makes you pay more attention to the lyrics and the lyrics are great on this one.

Wow. I'm really surprised by this one. I'd say 4.5 stars. The lyrics are solid, but the ice cold, emotional vocals on the hook are unbeatable. Probably not a true classic song but this is one I'll be playing a lot. Real relaxing, laid back song.

Wow, this is one some other other ish. You can hear how it has the potential to get corny, but it's far too good to get corny. Like DJ Brad said, the beat's simple but lovely, Fuze delivers lyrically and those vocals are amazing. It's a great day for quality music in the Booth today.

Love the beat (kinda reminds me of the MJ Liberian girl/2pac letter to my unborn child)and the chorus was tight. The rapping was positive and flowed wickedly with the beat.

Lyrically insane, so simple, yet so effective. Nearly everything has been stated. So I'm just gonna state that this is fair DOPE.
