Fusion Unltd. - The Sun ft Little Brother, Nickelus F, Hall Of Fame & Skillz
Artist: Fusion Unltd.
Featuring: Little Brother , Skillz
Producer: Fusion UNLTD
Album: Cold Fusion LP
Label: Grind Date Ent.
DJ/producer Fusion Unltd. has lent his production talents to everyone from mainstream heavy-hitters like G-Unit and Musiq Soulchild to DJBooth favorite Skillz, and with the early-‘09 release of the Cold Fusion LP he’s looking to become the next beatsmith to hit it big as an artist in his own right. New single The Sun finds the Baltimore native digging deep into his record collection for a sample of Chi-Lites singer Eugene Record’s Here Comes the Sun (also used on De La Soul’s He Comes), which serves as the basis for a lyrical look into hip-hop’s bright future. Showcasing his knack for bringing several of the game’s hottest talents to bear on one track, Fusion recruits Skillz (who, by the way, just released his ‘08 Rap-Up), Phonte and Big Pooh of Little Brother, Hall Of Fame, and Nickelus F., each of whom expresses his sky-high expectations for the genre going forward. If you’re not completely convinced that hip-hop is alive and kicking in ‘09, take a listen to The Sun – by the end of the record you’ll be reaching for your shades.

I love the old school beat. The lyrics are solid from all the artists. This is a banger

The old school beat didn't really bug me as much as they usually do and the rapping was good. It's alright.

This got some underground heavyweights on it yo....LB, Nickelus F. and Skillz? DOPE! The production is pretty fresh. Phonte and Big Pooh was straight. This wasn't the best verse from Nickelus F I've heard (Go search "A Scorpio's Mind" featuring Drake to hear one of his best!). Skillz did his thing too. I can throw this in rotation.

Agreed, the underground line up is epic. It rocks pretty nice, sounds a little bit like a Tribe Called Quest hint to it. I can vibe to this one, every artist goes hard and makes the track their own for the sweet 16. Banger!

Im not a big fan of this type of hip hop, but for some reason by head continues to bop- must be good music.

Not my type of hip hop. I like how they rap but I can't stand the music, it's kinda annoying

definate head nodder. I'm loving the verses from Lil Brother - Phonte and Pooh. The hooks and the production are both on point. This is a certified banger.
