Valentine’s Day is for the lovers, but what about the Freaks? While they don’t have celebrated holiday, French Montana might be able to satisfy them (pause). On the latest single off his Bad Boy debut album, Montana connects with producer Rico Love, who samples both Chaka Demus & Pliers’ Murder She Wrote and Li’l Vicious and Doug E. Fresh’s Freaks. The end result features all the bells and whistles you’d imagine, from relentless clapping to a boisterous air horn, which is perfectly suited to both counterbalance Montana’s nonchalant approach and accentuate guest Nicki Minaj’s ever-changing, eccentric flow. Fans awaiting Montana’s Excuse My French will have to sit tight as it has been moved to a May 21 release.

This sample came from one of my favorite reggae songs feat. Doug E. Fresh.
If they had him rap on the track, it might have been a classic, but its ok And for the record anyone feat. on a French Montana track steals the show from him O_o |

What did I just listen to? The beat is trash, French was horrible and Nicki was average.
I would say at this point, French is known for making really bad music and being an artist overshadowed by guests on his own song. He needs to establish some sort of personality in his music. I recognize the sample. Rico Love slaughtered it. Wack sauce. |

Not much I like about this song, Nicki's verse around 1:15 is decent. Don't like how the beat has been mixed, my ears feel like there are being assaulted by 4 different beats. French disappoints in this one.

Another French Montana song where he is out-shined by his guest artist, how surprising. Rico Love extracts a classic song and doesn't know how make that sample into anything different yet interesting.
