There’s just something about Freeway and his selection of soulful samples. After appearances with the R.O.C. and the release of his respectable sophomore album, Free at Last, Mr. Pridgen has returned with Hustlaz Prayer. Over a beautifully cultivated Cadillac banger produced by Blunt, this possible track off the forthcoming Freedom of Speech finds the Philly rhymesayer sharing his soul for the streets. In the ‘notable one-liner’ department, Philly Free gets a nod for his Nicki Minaj/Lil’ Wayne commentary (c’mon, who wouldn’t mind getting their Lollipop licked by Nicki?) On this reflective track, Freeway sounds ready to forget about his Roc-A-Drama and begin the next chapter of his recording career.
Man, Freeway has be bringing it lately. I don't know who this Blunt dude is producing, but he's smoking (You know what was intended...no need to mention it). This production definitely sounds like early 2000s Roc-a-fella. It definitely sounds like a throwback Kanye production. This is mad decent. I'm throwing it in rotation.
I like it. The sample is sweet. Those violins are hittin the spot. Frees voice never annoys me for some reason. I wonder y cause he has one of those voices. This is a cool track, bass could have hit harder, but I'd play this.
I am very anxious to see where Free's career goes now. I thought his last album was terrific, but sadly not many ears have heard it. If he can produce another album with the same quality production and rhymes, he still has a chance to make some noise in this industry long-term. But, its a BIG "if."
Freeway's voice is annoying! But then again, a lot of people don’t like Lil Wayne because of his voice (PattyPatty being the leader, lol), but I think Weezy is great, so I don’t know whether I’m being fair to Freeway. Beat is good, but his flow isn't, especially on the first verse... oh, when he goes like "singing" it's horrible! Not something I’d listen twice.
FredRico do u know I'm changing my mind? I mean, I still don't like Lil' Wayne's voice and I never will...you can tell me anything, that he's talented, that his voice is particular, but not that it's objectively good! Trey Songz's voice is objectively good for example...then it depens on one's tastes. Anyway I'm startin getting used to him, he's everywhere and he often gives good contributions to the songs which feature him!
As for this track, the production is smooth but his voice is annoying and boring...OK
it's good to see Lil Wayne's growin on you Patty, I completely understand your situation, I used to not like his voice either and I can't honestly say it's an amazing one, I just got used to and learned to appreciate it.
Free has a good flow and may be the best left on the ROC besides Jay Hova so I hope he can put a hit out there this probably isnt it but it's still a banger to me.
