Three quick facts about Freeway, the rap king of Philly’s streets: One, his real name is Leslie Pridgen (good call on the name change). Two, after a long-running and deep association with Roc-a-Fella, Free’s now signed to Cash Money Records. Three, after a slew of guest appearances (check him back up Sha Stimuli on Move Back), Freeway’s now undeniably Going Places, and he’s bringing Booth newcomers Playboi and Jakk Frost along for the ride. A strangely produced cut courtesy of B. Moon that sounds distinctly cinematic, lyrically Going Places features Free straying from his more grinding roots and good-but-not-great contributions from Playboi and Jakk Frost (who sounds like James Earl Jones if he rapped). Far be it for me to stand in the man’s way, but musically speaking, I’m frankly not sure I like the places Free’s going. Going Places will ambiguously be part of an untitled project with no set release date. Looks like you’ll just have to stay tuned to DJBooth.net for more.

Congrats goes out to B. Moon, whose production work here has officially landed him on my radar. The same, unfortunately, cannot be said about Free's running mates Playboi and Jakk Frost.

Decent mixtape track, overall nothing spectacular.

I'm cool with this going on a mixtape tryin to promote his younger artists. But this is nothing great at all. Production is tight though.

This production is ridiculous. Freeway killed his verse, i think a better line up would be

Freeway feat Cassidy & Juelz Santana

I can dream right?

Beat has alot of energy and Free flows really good with it!!
I think T.I would have completely destroyed this beat!! Remove the other guys off of here and add someone else and you got yourself a banger!!
Rotation!

This is the kind of production that's so crazy it works, but Free's not the right rapper to flow over a beat like this. He's too straight-ahead and hard, you need someone like a Lupe (for example) to truly kill it.

First off, I'm not a fan of the amount of "I'm back!"'s. I think we got the point after the 3rd one.

Production at the beginning is clever. The verses could have been harder, and matched the beat a little better, but overall not a bad track.

Rocafella kept dudes locked up. I thought Beania and Free were over, but I'm glad they're back doin their thing. I don't think they'll ever do numbers like Kanye, Jada, or Rihanna, but they're class acts and deserve exposure.
