Following the release of last year’s Free At Last, rapper Freeway has done nothing but record new music. If you’ve ever wondered what a “studio rat” looks like, allow us to re-introduce the veteran Philly native. As preparations are made for the release of his third solo project, Freedom of Speech, Free hooks up with Delaware producer Sap Da Beat Man for some good ‘ol Bread & Butter. Warning the world that his quest is to feed his face with new money, the thick-bearded Muslim seems capable of riding this meal ticket to an industry plateau that has long escaped him. While DJBooth has no information on the release date of the new project, Freeway will be plenty busy juggling the wrap of Freedom of Speech and several independent movie projects he is currently working on.
I'm feeling this one.. I liked the last Free album.. he always delivers lyrically and usually has good production on his tracks as well. This is no exception. 3.5 here.
Man! Sap Da Beat Man snapped pretty hard on this. I could hear the bass knock in my studio headphones. I'm sure it will bang in the subs. I feel Freeway have really upgraded his style and he has a cool vibe with the "street soul" idea and the high energy delivery. I've been liking some of the last joints he's been dropping. This might be the first Freeway album I cop. I'm looking forward to that. I liked the line "Time for a change, Freeway OBAMA, dropping bombs, Freeway OSAMA. Was that following line after that a Roseanne reference? Overall, a solid banger.
Solid, Voice sounds great lyrics seem solid, not a new theme,(getting more money) but an interesting way of saying it. Back beat is simple but seems to work well with his style
Freeway been on a roll lately...i never coped free's last album even thought i wanted to, but ive been hearing nothign but good things so maybe i'll do that this weekend...Sap's beat is proper and Free spit like a monster, also loving that "freeway osama" line...hope this next album will be as good as the last...does anyone know when we its dropping?
dis wuz gobbage!....i heard of dis nigga b4 but i neva listen'd 2 nunna his shyt n wit dis itz gone stay dat way! da way he deliverin' aint gettin' thru, yall muthafukaz musst b bananaz if yall thank dis shyt n3 gud!
smooth track..definitely feelin it.... Muzik Lyriqz must be one of those country dudes who dont know about urban music... remember, hip hop is from the streets and the urban areas, not none of that country strip mall @*#$!
I love this song, it has a great beat and Freeways flow is crazy. I dont know what those people were talking about when they said the beat, flow and lyrics were bad and that it was garbage. But i noticed that the people who said that dont even know english. So that might explain things..
This track had the potential to become a banger to me but it got repetitive after a while. Anyway really good production with a good beat. I don't like his voice very much, but his flow is more than ok! I also tried to understand some lyrics and I eventually understood something...he rapped very slowly lol!
Hey (Nephew)....Sap Da Beat Man...I just finished listening to your beat & as usual you put your thing down. I am so proud of you..keep up the good work.
Love you....Aunt VaLinda
