Unless this is your first day on the Internet, you’ve probably noticed that the trendy move for an unsigned artist today is to create a ‘series’ of song premieres lasting for an extended period of time. In the case of former Roc-A-Fella rapper Freeway‘s new series, Month of Madness, the frequency of a daily releases is simply too much for the Booth to handle. Since the eighth installment of the series is a standout, however, we present a record centered around one word: the sound effect Blauh, associated with “spitting,” whether it be verses, ammo, or, well, spit. The song’s street-heavy beat is produced by Jake One, whose distinct Northeast flavor proves that Seattle life hasn’t affected his opposite-coast flair. As the Month of Madness marches forward, check back with the Booth for future features.

The mixtape era is over. It's all about the daily/weekly/monthly free song downloads. I'm surprisingly glad to see Freeway jump on this bandwagon because I know he isn't going to drop a month's worth of phony garbage. Is this song an unreleased joint off "White Van Music." Freeway killed it on that album and Jake One always comes fresh. This track showcases that signature Freeway - sharp rhymes and a lot of emotion. Me like.

Freeway always brings ENERGY, which is never hated in my book. I like when he says that j-jockin my style, I was hooked on the track after that.
The chorus is horrible though, Freeway needs to pick up that autotune to carry a note LOL! This is a solid street record though, in that kind of rotation but not quite a 4. |

great lyricist and awesome flow. Too big for Jay-z to handle I guess. No real reason other than some sort of personal beef to drop this guy. seems kind of sketchy. sign to triple seige!! ha ha. or BWS they could use another big hitter to help Game and eventually Juice make BWS big.

I can't stand the hook, he sounds too out of tune in it. I know he wanted to obtain this effect but I don't like it. Other than this his flow is good but I'm not feelin the production! OK

Im loving this beat. Jake One is so under-rated IMO. Free's lyrics on here were on point, but I think the hook gets a little annoying, but still none the less, its a banger.

Ive never been into Northeast rap, but ive always liked freeways flow. The beat is too northeast for me and i couldnt bang to this in my car. But he tears it up. And TONE+Chef, i beg to differ, the mixtape era will never be over!
