Since releasing his last studio album, Priceless, Latin Pop singer Frankie J has watched his career heart-rate monitor fluctuate up and down. Despite millions of records sold and favorable reviews on his first three studio albums, the Mexican-born artist will no longer be recording for longtime label home, Columbia Records. Currently in the middle of a bidding war between several labels, all who are vying for his talent and notoriety, Frankie has released a new single, entitled Doctor Doctor (Please Don’t Go). Produced by Vanguard, the song follows a patient’s trip to the doctor to cure a broken heart. Currently untitled, Frankie plans to drop his next project in Q1 of ‘09, after signing on the dotted line with one of the many labels that currently covet him.
Vanguard's production is superb. I haven't really been a Frankie J fan in the past. Not that he's bad...I just was never was checking for him. But this track is a definitely smooth joint. It goes in rotation for now. I'll be looking for more good joints from Frankie in the the future. Word.
The first thing I notice was the great relationship between the club-oriented production with Frankie J's vocals. More work like this will definitely strengthen his bid for the best record deal.
I like this song, they only thing I find a little annoying is the repeat of doctor doctor doctor...I don't like when they repeat a word too many times in a chorus!
this song is nasty. I've always liked frankie J for this reason. The man can sing and make some good music. this will definately be a good steppin stone for him
Ray J?? I think Frankie is up above Ray J right now, not to mention had more success and been around longer. But besides that Frankie J has always had the voice to get your attention. Great production. Although this song is okay there is no way I'd bump this in the ride, besides its not my style unless he was a featured on a rappers track(like his collab with Omar Cruz). But if anything he may be able to draw comparison with Justin T.
Not Bad..
I've seen better from Frankie J! I know this because I owned his last 2 albums. But yeah his voice is always great, but the song doesnt really go anywhere.
