Foxy Brown - Bullet Proof Love/One Love ft. Lil' Mo
Artist: Foxy Brown
Featuring: Lil' Mo
Producer:
Album: Brooklyn's Don Diva
Label: Black Roses Music
This past Friday, after eight months behind bars, Foxy Brown was released from Rikers Island Correctional facility in New York. During her time served, the veteran rapper spent approximately forty days in solitary confinement and saw her newest album, Brooklyn’s Don Diva, pushed back three times. Now a free woman, Brown and her labels (Black Hand/Koch) have released the new song, Bullet Proof Love/One Love. Unlike The Game, who recorded Big Dreams the day he was jettisoned from jail, the newly released song from Brown was recorded before her time served. In the song, she spits “Yeah, I catch another charge… it’s nothing,” however, we seriously doubt she’s saying the same thing now. Brooklyn’s Don Diva drops on May 13.

Production sounds nice--must be a veteran producer. Does foxy sound like lil' kim or is it my speakers? Lil' Mo where have you been? I'm sorry Foxy but I don't see a comeback in the near future.

I'm feeling the whole message, w/ how she treat her man...but, just something about fox, she sounds stuck back in the day...she's not one to keep up...

Foxy Brown is the Queen of Female Rap in my opinion. I just haven't heard that BANGER of a song from her since the album she had a few Baby Sham joints on. This right here is just OK to me. Beat is pretty wack and I didn't even know that was Lil Mo on the track! What the heck happened to her? That's my girl too!

When I started to get into hip-hop in '01 (transitioning from middle school to high school freshman), Foxy and Mo were at the top of their respective fields in their game. Matter of fact, Fox Boogie has always been my favorite femcee not from the Midwest (maybe period). Most tend to either be too sexual or too street-she's the perfect mix of both. This track is a BANGER-the ladies will LOVE this, the fellas will have a lot to like as well.
Great selection today-looks like the industry peoples knew today was Z's birthday...Happy birthday Z! |

"jesavail02" you're right. Foxy sounds almost exactly like Lil Kim on this track. Especially the intro. WOW! I guess Foxy's still trying to find herself. That's all I'm going say about Fox Boogie caz I don't want to rile-up that "certain someone" in this DJ BOOTH. Ha-Haa!

The song is cool but I think it could have been better. Foxy's voice has changed since her hearing loss but I still think she got it! She has more substance in her music than most rap chicks, aside from Jean Grae & Lauryn Hill.
Glad she's back though wanna hear that full album. |

Its ok, Lil Mo saved it for me. I do wonder when artist are going to start listening to the things they say. They should just play back what they say to see if it sounds believable. Before she was trying to get out, now she is down to take another charge. Go figure!

She better hit the lab and record some new material.....this is not fire at all....beat is garbage...and Lil Mo has a killa voice always has but this hook is real weak..my 6yr old coulda wrote it which is usually the effect with every song Lil Mo writes..if she would except the fact that she isnt a writer and let Sean, Neyo, Dream, Brian Cox or somebody write her a ballad she would be good

She's no Lil' Kim, but she does her thing. Kim still holds down da female rap game, still waitin on a CD from her. Dis is jus ok.

It amazes me how she has been to jail several times and all she every raps about is Gucci and Louis Vuitton. She hasn't evolved as a rapper and that is my biggest problem with Foxy Brown. If she sells 10 or 10 million records, know that I bought not one of them.

This song is strong, but again alittle outdated! Where was this in 2003? It's cool but foxy needs to connect with the times. Maybe a voicebox track with lil wayne on it? ...Ok maybe not! 3.5

I know what'll work, a track with lil kim and her battleing over who's gonna be Plies next Bust it Baby. Prouduced by none other than T-Pain. That would be a hell of a comeback right there!
