For those well-versed in Blaxploitation and/or kung-fu cinema Jim Kelly needs no introduction; best known for playing inner-city karate teacher-turned-fugitive Williams in Bruce Lee classic Enter the Dragon, he was a silver-screen staple throughout the 1970s. On their latest single and first Booth feature, underground group Fortilive does their best impression of martial-arts mastery, punching and kicking their way through two verses’ worth of aggressively braggadocious lyricism as group member and Booth-approved beatsmith !llmind serves up a head-nodding, lightly-funky sampled groove. Lending a hand on the guest tip is none other than Ill’s Live From the Tape Deck partner-in-rhyme, Skyzoo; in between Slo-Mo and Mushmouf‘s hard-hitting verses, the two-fisted Brooklynite smacks down his rivals and threatens to put snitches’ necks in a noose. After !llmind and Skyzoo collided for an entire album, it only made sense for !ll to grab Sky for a verse on the new Fortilive project. "Jim Kelly" is full of life, possesses great energy, and was made to be performed. Become a fan and I'm sure you'll get that chance.

I'm clearly not up on my blacksploitation, when I hear Jim Kelly I immediately think Buffalo Bills QB.
Just like on their album, !ll and Skyzoo just can't fail, they're on a hell of a roll now. One listen and it's obvious that they're just a level above everyone else, and that's to overlook Fortlive at all. I'll have this one on repeat all day.

The begining really had me giggling. I was wondering when it would ever end... then Fortilive went it and really caught me off gaurd. The production from !llmind is really good. Its a perfect addition to this. I havent heard from Skyzoo in a while. I loved his previous work. And he really did great in this. This is a banger, for sure.
