Though Fat Joe‘s had his share of hit singles, don’t make the mistake of thinking he’s left the streets behind.  As the Akon-assisted One continues its journey up the charts, Joey Crack keeps feeding the block with street bangers.  On the newly-released Cup Cake, Don Cartagena continues the tradition of using sweet treats as a euphemism for a certain street product (see Wu-Tang‘s Ice Cream, Snoop‘s Candy, and Joc‘s Coffee Shop).  Underground Miami Beach rapper Benisour adds to the appeal on his hook and the second verse—in fact, he gets more mic time than he did on his previous two Booth features!  Shief‘s boardwork tops Cup Cake off like a good layer of frosting, making the record a tasty treat for those with a sweet tooth for block anthems.  J.O.S.E. 2 hits stores and online retailers May 19, and fans should stay tuned to the Booth for Joe’s exclusive interview with our own DJ Z earlier that month.

Ughhh....does Joey even try anymore? I am over these half-effort street tracks he comes with. I would never listen to this again, but I'm still hoping Fat Joe comes through with another solid single on his next album.

I have never been a fan of Joe. I think he is a sub-par rapper, but this wasn't too bad. The production was good and the song just sounded pretty good overall. The lyrics were nothing special. There are so many other artists who would have killed this beat though.

Fat Joe...continues to disappoint me. Production is decent, verses are okay and the hook is "egh". Nothing to write home about here.

I actually am feeling the beat on here. And dare I say it...Joe actually sounds half decent on here, but I just think its a product of the beat being so good. Benisour is OK as well. Chorus is kinda week though.

Damn I would love to see what Young Jeezy could do with this beat. As for this song its decent the beat has some heat but other than that I'm not impressed

I hate fat jokes, but how can you not laugh at the idea that Fat Joe titled a record "Cup Cake". I should be thinking about this raw beat or how Joe would have ripped it to shreds about 10 years ago, but nope - all I am thinking about is a big 'ol cupcake with chocolate frosting. Wow.

I can all but see what 50's next diss rap about Fat Joe is going to be about, lol. To bad that Ross is currently 50's target

Production is decent, though Fat Joe is just whack.

First off I'm def feeling the beat; it makes me want to get up and dance. I'm actually feeling it. Maybe i should listen to it again so i can pay attention to the lyrics cause right now i'm just thinking about the beat and the chorus; its def making me want a cupcake. Too bad he can't find a hit single. This is certainly not it. Just a club joint that people will soon get tired of.

I like the beat but the music is really too repetitive. It is pretty but it never changes, so the song gets boring quickly. Their flows are ok.
