With eight studio albums under his belt, Fat Joe remains the metaphorical Elephant in the Room – a prolific, talented artist who hasn’t quite managed to achieve recognition as a hip-hop heavyweight. Hoping to change that with the summer release of his currently-untitled ninth studio album, Joey Crack has enlisted superstar emcee/producer Akon to create a single aimed squarely at the ladies. Over a downtempo, synth-laced beat by the Konvict Muzik head honcho, the emcee pours out his heart to a woman he thinks could be the One. Taking advantage of a proven formula, this cut will undoubtedly find a place in the hearts of many female listeners, but the repetitive hook (also by Akon) may limit its potential for enduring success. Could the album formerly known as Nino “Dubs” Deluca be the One that finally gets Joe the respect he deserves? We’ll have to wait and see…

I ain't gonna lie, Akon tryed to hit a little to high on the vocals on here I think.. I aint really feelin the production on this, weird synth sounds get repetitive.. Okay, I probably won't listen to it again.. and you can now have a reason to be surprised that I just put DOWN an Akon song, First ever, LOL!

Out of everyone 50s shut down (fat joe, cam'ron, ja rule) I've always respected fat joes sound. Its unique and he makes albums consistently with that good sound. Most of his songs may not be amazing, but his consistency is astounding. Akon isn't that great on the hook in my opinion.

I agree with frozilla. Ive always thought that fat joe had a decent flow. He never tries to hard. Fat joes songs for the most part are pretty solid. So is this one.

If you locked up Joe and Kon in a studio and said make a song... this is EXACTLY what I would expect from the two of them. Can this do big things at radio? Maybe. Honestly, I don't know...

Never been a fan of Fat Joe, his flow & voice just dont do it for me, though this is a decent track from him, though it wont get in my rotation. It definitely wasn't Akon's best hook and the production from him wasnt really good either.

Crack is just OK, as he has been a lot lately. This is quite possibly the worst Akon hook I have ever heard. "I won't tell" was way better that this. Not what Joe needs to have success. Not good...

I agree Greg Street when you said "this sounds like the same ol same. It's funny that I read that RIGHT AFTER reading Richard's blurb that said Joe was trying to change his status with this album.
I'm not a hater though. This actually is the best thing I've heard from Fat Joe in a LONG time. (I dug "Make It Rain" but not really for Fat Joe's verses). |

I like it (production) but... damn, even I know how Akon could have made this hook better: keeping the first half, loosing the repetitiveness by the end.
Fat Joe is just nothing more than average. |

The production is hot!! Nice change ups, very crisp and clear vocals. The chourus is catchy - That's just Akon doing what he do!!! The melody is nice. Fat Joe hasn't done much to impress me in so very long. It just sounds like he's just looking to make noise on a track. He's not really saying anything and his flow isn't hittin' on anything hard. But the good outweights the mediocre on this joint.

1,1,1,1 gets really repetitive and old after a while. The production is pretty good but nothing special. Fat Joe has nice delivery but his rhymes is average. For him its actually pretty good but Akon was not that special. I can throw this club song in rotation

I don't mind it...although I must say that Akon's got his hands in every pie and a lot of his stuff is just starting to sound too similar. Reminds me of T-pain. Still not a bad song though. 3

Its okay, Akon tried to hard to raise his pitch high. Fat Joe is decent even though usually his lyrics are repetitive and weak. Akon did good though, but i hoped for a better joint he can get on. He need to make a collaboration cd with somebody.
