While Faith Evans may forever be best known as Biggie’s wife, the siren-haired singer has been making a name for herself in the R&B game for years, so it’s fitting that her new single Gone Already has a real timeless feel. Coming off the relative success of her last offering to the Booth, Way You Move, Gone Already finds Faith recruiting producers Carvin & Ivan to craft a piano driven ballad that kicks into an extra gear on the choruses thanks to a drum-heavy and guitar laced underpinning. As quality as the beat is, however, it’s really just the stage for Evans to deliver her heartbroken but strong vocals about a love that, truth be told, faded years ago. Gone Already, like the voice of the woman who sings it, may not blow you away, but there aren’t nearly enough singers as good as Evans for you to sleep on this track. Expect more relationship-based R&B when Faith’s upcoming album Something About Faith, hits stores on October 5.

Faith's last Booth feature "The Way You Move" didn't, well, move me. This new single, "Gone Already," does. The production stylings are more up her vocal alley and the end result is pleasing for a lover (me) of 90's-esque R&B.

this is good. i really doubt Faith is still capable of crafting hits or prob even a strong full length, but she displays a strong showing here.

Great record. The paino in the beat sounded great, especailly at the end when it just plays for a while, and Faith's vocals were top notch. Nice to hear a good song from a really talented singer.

The piano over the top of the percussion sounds perfect. Add Faith's soulful vocals to the top and it works very well. All the elements add up to create the best R&B track I've heard in a while.

I really don't have much more to say that I didn't say in the intro. From the production to the concept to Faith's vocals, this is just a really quality record all around.
It's not re-writing the R&B book, and that's fine. It doesn't have to. Good music is good music.

Faith should be best known for being slept on. She put out some good r&b that didn't get the praise that it should. Not feeling this one as much as most of her previous work. Need to give it more spins in rotation.
