Evident (Formerly Colorblind) - Single Girl
Artist: Evident (Formerly Colorblind)
Producer: Jim Jonsin
Album: Untitled
Label: Evident Music Group/Latium Records
Since last we saw them, the duo formerly known as Colorblind have undergone a few changes. Now collectively known as Evident, members Willie Wheat (the R&B singer) and P3 (the rapper) have signed to Houston-based record label Latium Records (currently home to Rob G and former home to Dallas Blocker). Hoping to remedy the situation described in local (and Booth-acclaimed) hit The Break Up Song, the Corpus Christi duo head to the club in search of a Single Girl. While both members deliver appealing vocals, much of this cut’s hit potential can be credited to songwriter Rico Love (Boyfriend #2) and #1 producer Jim Jonsin (Lollipop, Whatever U Like, Kiss Me Thru The Phone). With the buzz this record is bound to create, it should only be a matter of time before major distribution takes notice. (If I were a betting man, I’d put my money on Universal Republic).

This track is not bad at all, it just doesn't have overwhelming appeal. The production is just average, the melody/vocals are alright. The rapping is below average. There's just nothing that stands out here...

If you like Jim Jonsin production then you'll love this record. If you think all of his beats sound the same, you won't. Simple as that...

I like Jim's tracks, althou@h this is just like all the rest of his beats. Evident makes this son@ a throwaway for me. I think if this beat was @iven to someone else, it may have been done better.

Even though a lot of Jim Jonsin beats sound really similar there still usually hot in their own way. The rapper in the beginning was decent this is catchy enough for rotation

like everyone else said, very typical jim jonsin beat, but thats the formula for success right now...the sound is nice and like this concept of a r&B/rapper duo putting records together. for the radio!
