Tambourine and Give It to You both won positive reviews when they hit the Booth back in ‘08, but those singles weren’t enough to save Eve‘s senior album (then titled Here I Am) from a seemingly endless series of delays. Now, though, the Philadelphian femcee is back with a new track she hopes will finally get the ball rolling on Flirt, which will be her first full-length in seven years. Though Eve’s no stranger to the dancefloor, Me N My (Up In The Club) may still come as a bit of a surprise to longtime fans. With a self-explanatory concept (the artist and her crew are in the club, and they’re gonna dance) and fairly minimal lyrical content, this track is all about Salaam Remi and Benga da Afro Warrior‘s electro-informed instrumental, driven by a muffled, jittery bassline that melts into slippery synth squelches on the hook. MNM (UitC)‘s propulsive, edgy sound will certainly get the attention of hardcore club heads, but will it be music to the ears of Eve’s established fanbase? As always, I’ll leave it to Booth readers to make the final call.

When I heard this song yesterday, i was like... EVE???? lol. this is one of those high energy songs for the club! like Shake N Bake yesterday except this gets u more pumped. (in detroit this wat they play late at night on 97.9 and we can catch it in toledo lol)
anyway Im all for established artists trying somethin new as long as it works! This works |

Really dissapointed in Eve. She just gets lost in the the whole elctro beat and the "me & my bitches" gets annoying after while. I hope the album will drop in the near future.

I do respect EVE and any artist for stepping out the box to try and connect with other types of genres & cultures - BUT this is just ANNOYING!!! Beat to lyr .. ic ..
Who in the hell can even dance to this sh*t! I can only imagine it as a moviesong for ish like blade, underworld or some other dark vampire or sicko movie ... |

now, it got me bouncin again, but it ain't a track I'd release first... cuz it's EVE, there simply MUST be two-three bangers on the (..coming..) album. noumsayin?! this is a club song, but not something that makes everybody rock as me... :-) |

Well, ppl have been all over the place on this one. I love EVE and she is always pushing the line, whether on fashion or music, it is pretty repetitive, but I like it. I can't say a whole album with the same feel is gonna work, but she knows much better than that.
