It’s been a minute since last we heard from Evan Roberts—the reader-acclaimed Don’t Wanna Hear hit our front page way back in January 2010—but, if the indie crooner’s latest single is any indication, he hasn’t changed a bit in the meantime. Still as soulful, multitalented and (alas) heartbreak-prone as ever, the artist spends sweeping ballad Only 1 pouring his heart out to an ex over his own rock-infused production. Evan & Hell has yet to receive a drop date, but fans can still download 2009’s Outta Hear EP for free via in the Booth.

I'm feelin this. I like the flow of it all and Evan Roberts sounds good. I'll bump this on them long road trips to switch it up a bit.

Roberts feels like a lost artist. Last we heard from him, he was a pop artist with a rock edge. This is more R&B with a pop vocal. I think he should figure out what he wants to do musically and if he plans to take this seriously and then really, truly begin the process.

What people fail to realize is that Evan Roberts is the true definition of an artist hands down for the simple fact that he's an artist that can venture out and be execellent in any area of the craft we call music and be great at it, Not many artist can do that, and stay relevant with what's current today. People can relate to what he feels in each song because he speaks on behalf of the record, he doesnt let the record speak on his behalf. Great work!

Evan is good but he isn't great. I think he has a distinct voice that could possibly resonate through different genres but he lacks a certain "je ne sais quoi". Still, the lyrics are well written and I do believe that his breakout point is coming. Im not a fan yet although I will def keep tabs cause he's so darn cute (pardon my girly moment). LOL God bless!
