Rap legend Erick Sermon, probably best known as one-half of EPMD,  joins forces with LOX alum Sheek Louch for, believe it or not, his first Booth feature with Dodge This, off of his Breathe of Fresh Air Mixtape. From the first second the boom-bap inspired Rockwilder beat dropped and the veteran emcee led off with “I bring the rapture like Blondie, if Hip-Hop is dead, what am I a zombie / got media terrorists trying to serve me…” my attention was immediately caught. (But E Double talking about the rapture like this weekend isn’t May 21? I guess that’s a conversation for another day. Like May 22, here’s hoping we can Dodge This.) Either way, it’s good to hear the man again following the EPMD cut Don’t Get Clapped from a few months back, and Sheek throws in a solid effort as well.  So whatever you think of this specific record, remember, you always gotta respect Sermon. No word yet on a release date for Breathe of Fresh Air, but you know who you can count on for updates.

What you know about Def Squad??? Its good to hear from Erick again, but I always enjoyed his talents more as a producer than an emcee. And speaking of producers... Rockwilder never disappoints, offering up a 90s flashback with the bassline.

surprising this isnt rated higher just due to the name attached to the record. Then E and Sheek show up and do their thing. 3 + .5 for the legend comin back

love to see the vets go at it and still be consistent. love the song. not anything special but a solid song.not trying to sound new age and sticking to the formula.
