Despite our need to be the first to jump on brand-new music, the DJBooth isn’t afraid to admit when we’ve slept on a hit (see Ben One & Shawnna‘s, Never Leave My Girl). Similarly to the Chicago natives’ chart-rising hit, veteran singer Eric Benét‘s comeback single, You’re The Only One, has already climbed to #20 on the Billboard R&B Charts, prompting the Booth to finally feature the Milwaukee native’s smooth, mid-tempo jam. Committed to working out a troubled relationship, Eric wants his woman to know he’s here to stay (and hopes she won’t go out that door). Produced by Demonte Posey and George Nash, Jr., don’t be surprised if you find You’re The Only One on the playlist of the next wedding you’re invited to. Benet’s fourth album, Love & Live, is in stores today courtesy of Warner Bros Records.
Classic, Benet. Great radio jam. Not an artist that today's youth would be excited about, but thats because he doesn't play to their crowd. Solid record.
Man this song is by far a classic balled. Eric has some hits in his catalog. It's good to see some of the real R & B artist back at it. Case and Jon B and now Eric Benet. I gotta admit,I've been on this track for about say 6 months and I can honestly say it matches up well with any wedding/ love balled in my itunes. This is truely a classic, in a era where music is just not made like this anymore. I'm old enough to love this!!! 1984!!!
This is a nice smooth track from Eric Benet right here! I always liked his voice and track selection and this track right here is like he never left! This track can go into rotation at least!
I got a chance to preview this album and it is fabulous. Thank you Eric for bringin real R&B music back. Eric Benet's new album called 'Love and Life' is in stores Tuesday, September 9th. I will definitely get my copy. He will sing "You're the Only One" on the 'Today Show' tomorrow (9/9). Check him out.
This is very interesting for me, his voice doesn't seem like a natural fit for RnB tracks. But the arrangement used and the lyrical flow really sings to me. The up-tempo beat really works for him though. Unfortunately the style he's going after has been done time and time again, it's lacking a bit of originality oomf to really set it off for me.
This is not my type of song, sounds too "old" and I didn't listen to this genre years ago....but damn his voice is very sexy and warm! He can sing wonderfully!
Hey peeps, just imagine you got your girl on the couch...u've dimmed the lights... and you 'gliding' 2wards her with a bottle of wine in one hand and a glass in the other with this song in the background. Yeah bo, this going rite next 2 B.White and L.Vandross.
Everytime I hear this song it sends chills...This man is so talented. It's wonderful to hear really great music but coming from milwaukee myself and living around the corner on 21st in Burleigh I wouldn't expect less. (Cleo's corner store, Moody Pool and Auer Avenue school (dating myself graduating in "83") Wow...When I am back in town to visit, I'll visit my old neighborhood it's changed but there was a lot of great talent in that area. Glad to know you've make it and went home home for the "Block Party" (Huge Smile) Much Success!
