Following Lil’ Wayne’s tremendous first week sales, assisted by a hefty amount of Lollipop ringtone purchases, newcomer Envy is making sure that his game is tight in the mobile phone arena. With the Ringtone market currently booming, Envy’s new track of the same name is unsurprisingly garnering lots of attention on Billboard’s Hip-Hop Single Sales Chart. Envy wants the ladies to know that if they receive a phone call from him, they must know how to treat the situation; you know, send texts, picture messages and if it gets serious, save his digits to the SIM Card. St. Louis’s Fedarro Noel (a.k.a FreqBeats) lends his production and hook-singing skills to the Midwestern emcee‘s single, giving Envy an airy piano and quick bassline that is perfect for two-stepping, finger-snapping, and that special someone’s Ringtone.
Envy takes a different creative approach to the entire ringtone trend and it kinda works. I don't know if he can deliver a real R&B record and not all "poppy" soul tracks with a twist.
Another one of those overused titles again. This is corny as far as the primise of the song. But the production is fire. Alil muffled though, needs to be remastered. Envys voice is cool 4 the track but what he's sayin is crap. 2 stars.
Yes this title isn't new, it's rather usual...I mean, where's originality? Anyway I wouldn't say this is bad, I've heard much worse...the beat is good, the music too and he doesn't sing so bad! It isn't a fresh song, but still enjoyable to me, although also forgettable lol! 2,5 stars
Fedarro's vocals are off the chains. This production skills are on point as well. I think the song is great, and if he had of named it something different, it wouldn't be getting criticized , because it's not really a ringtone joint and it could've been a hot song by itself. But all the brand name dropping makes it seem like he's trying to pick up an endorsement deal...lol. I'll through this is rotation.
This has excellent production. Envy could have done more with the lyrics/vocals, but its a poppy chart-pleaser... so less is sometimes more. Not an automatic favorite, but a solid listen.
Ok E-dub I tried looking for this song on Frostwire the file sharing program I have and I could not find it either. I first searched the name of the song then I tried name of the song and the artist and then tried just the name of the artist and this song did not come up at all so I dont know. But atleast I tried.
