So you’ve created the dope new game DJ Hero, which our very own DJ Z just previewed, and you’re recruiting rappers to appear on the soundtrack for the Renegade Edition. If your first call isn’t to Eminem, who’s been the very definition of a hip-hop renegade for a decade now, I don’t know what you’re doing. Sure enough, the invitation was extended and Slim Shady accepted, hand-picking the new track Taking My Ball. Only slightly less dark than his work on Relapse, Taking My Ball was produced by the man himself and includes, in no particular order, references to anal sex with Kim Kardashian, sniffing Magic Markers and covering your penis in peanut butter. In other words, hide the women and children, this is vintage Shady. You can hear more outlaw hip-hop behavior when the DJ Hero: Renegade Edition Soundtrack drops on December, 27. i just had to comment on this. ok replaying it since the morning...
THE BEAT IS STUPID CRAZY. this has to be dre. it grows on you like you dunno. the hook, and the beat = BEAST BANGER. ok now for the lyrics...not feeling it he needs to lose the accent and make sense. also stop dissing celebs. if he had normal lyrics with a normal voice this would be 5*. beat is DEEZED |

He did say that R2 was going to be a lot like his other stuff. Lately he's been doing a new thing with his voice which after a full album of it I still don't know how I feel. But for this song it works.

Pretty good Em record. This isn't album material so I'm not judging it as highly as I will for R2. The flow and lyrics on here were vintage Eminem even though he went back to that accent persona. Pretty hot though and cool for a video game marketing standpoint.

i know this song is a joke, but what about eminem himself? every time he does a song with this accent, the song essentially becomes something stupid to just listen to once and then never listen to again. His older songs had REPLAY VALUE. if he wants to be to a freak he should go join the freak show and use the voice as much as he wants.

This comment is going to cause a lot of controversy but am I the only one who likes Eminem rapping over his own beats than Dre's? He produced the entire Eminem Show and I think that's the best produced of all of his albums. Call me crazy but that's just my opinion.
The production on this one is great and the chorus is strong, so were the verses. No real complaints other than I'm waiting on a serious Eminem song for once. Banger. |
