Eminem - I’m Having A Relapse (Freestyle)

Eminem is finally back… with a new book. Next Tuesday, he will release his brand new autobiography, entitled The Way I Am. According to a product description, the Detroit rapper will “share his private thoughts on everything from his inner struggles, to the trials of being famous, [and] the love for his daughter, Hailie.” While the majority of Em loyalists are probably thrilled that their favorite emcee is back in the spotlight, they’d be a lot more excited if it was because of new music. Thus, in honor of next week’s book drop, Eminem whipped up a freestyle, entitled I’m Having A Relapse, which he premiered last evening on his Shade 45 satellite radio station. With rumors flying around about the title of his long-awaited new album, the Vibe magazine “Greatest Rapper Alive” winner also announced that it will be called R3LAPSE; Slim Shady released his last full-length solo project, Encore, in 2004.

Z, OH MY GOD AM I EXCITED!!! I've seriously been waiting on Em's return for-f*cking-ever, since 04! This freestyle is soooo sick! Em is killing this beat, classic Shady track! This flow fits the production absolutely perfectly, there isn't another rapper that could tear this song apart as good as Slim Shady did. Just listen to the lyrics, the dude has still got it! It's time for Eminem to have a say in who the greatest in hip hop is...none of that collaboration or autotune type of tracks, this is straight memorable hip hop right here. This whole album is going to be the same way. This just got me way too excited to hear more from Em, he better put somthin else out soon.

SHADY!!! FinallY! When I heard the rumors of the long-awaited shady return early this year, i was so excited! The months went by and forgot about it... then I saw this on a blog yesterday! He may have left for a while but he's back now and will take the crown from weezy. Kayleb, i tend to agree that a collab is likely and then we will see who is the best. Shadys proves that he still got that fire and murders this!

Great track; even better due to the fact it is a freestyle. I gotta agree with FedRico; Eminem's name should never be mentioned in the same sentence as Plies unless the sentence is "Plies is garbage compared to Eminem" or something along those line. The only person I put in Em's league is Jay-Z, Nas, Andre 3000, Ludacris and maybe Lil' Wayne (his old material was never good; it seems a bit suspicious to me how quickly he became a superstar. *cough* ghostwriter). Anyways, the freestyle is great and it really seems Eminem is back to form. I found Encore a bit disappointing but I'm hoping R3LAPSE will bring back my faith in one of my all time favorite lyricists.

As another said lets see Cham and Em in a collaboration; I welcome his return as long as it doesn't affect his relationship with his daughter cuz lord knows that poor girl has probably been through enough. Now will Em keep spitting fire is my only question or more specifically; is he coming back for money because he's coming up short now or is he coming back because of a true love of the game or is it a combination of both? I guess only Em' can answer that with time in the effort he puts forth or with an actual public response.

Bout time. He was just waiting for the right time. Allowing other artist to step their game up before he take's them all to another level. And those who constantly diss EMINEM sayin' whatever... Wake the hell up. Most of his lyrics like every other in the game started from a simple freestyle session. Then it went on paper. This free style will probably end up as one of his intro's to another track. All I ask is that Please make sure the album get's over here to the BX's and PX's here in Europe on time don't have service members waiting forever and a day. WE are sick of New albums coming out in the states and then "WE" (service members) have to wait months before we get them. Yeah there's the internet, yeah we could download it. BUT RESPECT WE WANT OUR ALBUM ON TIME.

eminem probably has the most varied selection of vocab of any rapper that exist. Difference between him and wayne is wayne is too inconsistent. Some times he says shit that doesnt make sense. Eminem on every track delivers at least a 4 star verse. its called consistency and is a key factor to why some people consider him the bets. He could do this shit on any day..over and over again. As far as weezy and em on the same track, you will never ever see that.

Man, I'm so glad Relapse was much better than this track...it sounds hastily put together, and the flute is just weak.
The rhymes were pretty good, but please no more weird accent! I'm a huge Em fan, so I was glad to find out that this freestyle was not representative of Relapse. You can skip this one without guilt. (if anyone is still reading reviews for this track.) |
