Eminem - 3 A.M.
Producer: Dr. Dre
Album: Relapse
Label: Shady/Aftermath/Interscope
I remember the day like it was just yesterday. It was my 16th birthday and my father took me to the DMV for my driving exam. Inexplicably, I failed my test. I went back the following day, however, and victory reigned supreme (the key is to find older, female examiners). So, what does this story have to do with the new record that Eminem himself premiered Thursday morning on his Sirius station, Shade 45? Well, upon passing my exam, my folks made one thing crystal clear: nothing good happens in the early morning hours. For proof of my parents’ infinite wisdom, take a listen to Slim’s 3 A.M., a five-minute lyrical slaughterhouse (literally). In addition to revealing that he masturbates to Hannah Montana, the Shady one details his own murder in a series of nightmares, and how too many Vicodin and shots of Jack Daniels drove him to brutally dismember his cousin. Oddly enough, it has never been more appropriate to say the following: Welcome back, Marshall!

This is classic EMIN3M. Krazy as usual. Smart to keep with a formula that works. This is better to me than the last 2 songs he put out, Crack a bottle, and We Made You. I can't Wait for his album to drop. 4/5 Im still waiting for that 5 star Classic to drop. I know its coming sooooon :D

Great production from Dre but this is yet another disappointment to me lyrically. It's not bad in any sense but it's just not the highest-caliber of Slim. Not to mention this accent is just killing the mood. Honestly, I feel as if Relapse would sell more if no singles were ever released; that way the hype would build all the way to its release. It would've gone platinum solely off of hype; yet here we are, 2 singles deep, and neither are what I'd like to hear. *Lowering Expectations*

The accent and high-pitched voice tone... :s not enjoyable in a supposedly creepy track. Kinda monotonous flow (kills the expressiveness) and annoying ("brain contusions again" @ 2:17 is like that part is on repeat for 15 seconds!).
This beat is nothing compared to what Dre can do, please don't say it's great... it only makes me remember of the really great ones he did and how long it's been since I heard a new one. I loved "I'm having a relapse", but only the lyrics and diction pleased me on this one. Where's "The Way I Am", "Cleanin out my closet", "Lose Yourself", "Sing for the Moment", "Like Toy Soldiers" Eminem?!? This one is not moving! |

Where is Eminem and who is this replacement character? 3AM is wack sauce yo. I mean, it’s straight…but this new voice is super annoying now. I want a sincere Eminem joint like “The Way I Am” I don’t know WTFlip this mess is? Ugh…I have a feeling that “Relapse” might be very disappointing. I’ve always said that Eminem is the best rapper alive….maybe the best to do it period (yes…even over 2pac), but these new joints aren’t helping me prove that point to people

This is pretty ordinary considering he's thought to be the 'greatest rapper alive'. Looks like that crown isn't as undisputed as some still believe. If the next song released by Em is wack, then I believe the greatest rapper alive tag will be up for grabs.

Eminem is one of my biggest Idols, And before anyone thinks its because hes a white rapper, My number 1 Idol Is Will Smith loll, But I think that its because Em is more around my time.. 2Pac is Legendary in everyone eyes, But everyone has there opinion, Mine being Em is the greatest period because I grew up listening to him, I didnt even hear of 2Pac growing up.. No disrespect, but Em Is My choice as stated.

@bowwserr - dude are you kidding? 2Pac had a sick flow and his lyrics were hands down better than anyone that has ever stepped up to a mic. He had a message in every song. Em is great and maybe a top 5 all-time rapper (for sure top 10) but he doesn't compare to 2Pac at all. 2Pac is the best ever.

@GStan - That's all well and good, as far as your opinion goes. BUT, Eminem goes places few would dare to go. And he'll be doing this for a while. Wait ten years. He'll still be in the studio. He will always be the best rapper. And, even if 2Pac was better (which he's not), Eminem would undoubtedly be number 2. Sorry, but Eminem wins by a small margin. 2Pac's good, but doesn't quite match up to Eminem.
Damn. Didn't think this would turn into some big deal. I like it though. Debates about music are awesome. Shows how much the people involved love music. |

On the 2pac debate, I give Eminem the upper-hand; no questions asked. Lets face it people, 2pac had his classics ("California Love", "Brenda's Got a Baby", "How Do You Want It"...) but when you look behind the classics, you find a career of filler; the only reason Pac is looked on as the best who ever did it is because he's dead. B.I.G. and Pac, had they lived to this day, would likely be ranked amongst Eminem and Wayne, yet below Jay-Z. Eminem has covered more topics, has a stronger flow and has a far more interesting persona than 2pac ever did. So yes, I think Eminem is the superior artist. Not to mention he reaches out across all boarders; appealing strongly to both the mainstream and hip hop communities. For every 10 people walking around listening to "Lose Yourself", you'll find two or three people listening to "Ambitionz as a Ridah". Take all of this into accound and it's easy to see who is superior. That said, Eminem is coming rather weak lately; I don't know whats up but when you compare "Marshall Mathers LP" (or even "The Eminem Show") to "All Eyez On Me"; Eminem is the clear-cut winner.

Hah, thanks for the co-sign bowwserr.
Btw, I'd like to point out to everyone that you all bring up very good points; Eminem most definitely did benefit from growing up listening to Pac but that's somewhat irrelevant when comparing the artists' catalogs. In addition, just because Pac had a message in every one of his songs doesn't make him a better artist. Anyone can throw in a fully cliche morals into their stories; it's the way they are told that make story become artistry. As far as I know, nothing 2pac has ever written parallels "Kim", "Bonnie & Clyde", or "Stan" (one of the best tracks in rap history) in terms of artistry. Let's face it; he can't tell stories like Jigga, get political like Common, drop punchlines like Ludacris or flow like Chamillionaire; Eminem can do all those things; maybe not all at once but he's certainly demonstrated the ability. I confess I'm not an avid listener of Pac (although I own all of his albums; never really felt the need to repeat any of them fully) and could therefore be wrong in saying he can't flow so, can anyone point out a song to me where 2pac raps at a Twista-like speed? It seems to me he uses the same monotonous voice in the greater majority of his songs. |

Well commin from some one who has both of those MCs entire collections and did @row up on pac, all I can tell you is to di@ further into tupac's collection and you will find not only Bi@ hits, but substance and delivery. If Em wants his name mentioned with pac , SERIOUSLY by the masses, he must @ive us better bodies of work. these last 3 albums have not been up to par. In fact I'll @o as far as to say as his best work was Done off of his albums. Son@s like "my words are weapons" No appolo@ies, Lose yourself, and Sin@ for the moment are tracks that will make this debate more reasonable, but he does too much silly bs to be mentioned with pac in my humble opinion, I am a hu@e fan of Em and when it comes down to it, his @reatness on the mic I would never debate or deny, but when you talk about tupac as an artist alone, his body of work speaks volumes to his popularity amon@st the @reatest of all time and Eminem's has yet to do so.

@BDF44 - Good points. But who's to say that if Tupac were still alive, that he would still be in the game? Eminem not only has all of the things DJ J mentioned, but to top all of that off, he has longetivity. You see the same thing in every genre of music. The biggest example I have that pops into my head is the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin.
What it all comes down to is this: if you had Eminem and 2Pac(posthumously) release albums on the same day, then waited a month, who would have sold more albums? The undeniable truth is Eminem. |

well yes I think Em would sell more, only because all of pacs posthumous albums have been recycled verses over modern production, (Loyal to the @ame for example produced mostly by Mr. Mathers.) I do believe if pac was still around he would be in the @ame. All he did was stay in the studio, Wanye @ets his hustle from pac. He loved music and expressin himself throu@h wordplay. Question is if eminem passed away, would he leave us with as much quality music as tupac did, in half the time of livin@. That answer is to be determined by all of us. My opinion? Absolutly Not!

I like the flow and I like the production and they go decently well enough together but this is mixtape material. Considering an album hasn't been dropped in a good minute (5 years..?) This is not an effort that should reflect 5 years of growth nor is it something that should reflect the best works an artist can put together that will create sales, get radio play and treat the fans. This song deserves a 3.5 but because of my annoyance its not.

@BDF44 - Before I sy anything to your comment on the Pac/Eminem debate, let me say I agree 100% with your comment on opening a blog on the Booth. It's unfair to Eminem that half of our comments are about Pac (just as it would be unfair to Pac if this were his track).
Now, as to your comment about Eminem/Pac, I do believe that with everything EMinem has been through, he has released many a good track. No, mke tht excellent tracks. I'd list off a few, but it'd take too long. lol. Now, don't get me wrong: 2Pac was an amzing rapper. Simply amazing. And he is second to only one man, in my opinion: Eminem. Em's tracks are something everyone can relate to on some level. I personally connect to several of them. He raps bout everything, and you can hear it in his music. From Lose Yourself to 'Till I Collapse, he's proven he's got something meaningful to say about almost all the sh*t life can throw at you. And that's why so mny people can relate to him and his music. 2Pac may be the better rapper, I'm not afraid to admit that. But if we are talking about who the better artist is (and yes, there is a difference), then I believe firmly tht Eminem can safely be named number one. @DJ Z - I just have to say, you're welcome. And also, I need to thank you. If it weren't for the Booth, we wouldn't be having the debate we are having right now. So many people are hot-headed and stubborn about their beliefs and opinions (I happen to be stubborn, but not hot-headed). The Booth seems to filter a majority of those people out, leaving you with intelligent people who have intelligent, not rude, things to say about music and artists. I for one look forward to the rest of this debate, and the ones that hopefully follow. After all, without an opinion, we are not our own person. |

Thanks for the recommendation BDF; I checked out the track and I give you props; it definitely changed my opinion somewhat on Pac always rapping in the same, dull pattern. I don't think it quite pushes him up to Eminem but I definitely slept on the track (and I have no idea why, I've listened to all of Pac's albums at least 2 or 3 times).
Anyways, like Dre, I don't consider Eminem OR Pac to be my favorite rapper of all time. In all honesty, and I know I'm going to get crap for this, but my number 1 has been, and always will be... Ludacris. haha (Jay-Z is a close second) |

P.S. No problem Z. I do my best to keep all these debates clean. Nothing pisses me off more to have my opinion responded to with a "f*** u a$$hole; you ain't know $HIT". lol. As long as my opinion is treated with respect, I have no problem getting into these debates. I also agree 100% on the forum idea. (Maybe at the bottom of the home page?)
Every week we could have a topic like "Ideal Collaboration", "King of the South", "Best Rapper Alive", "B.I.G. vs. Pac", and all the members could respond and share their feelings. I'm completely down. (Btw, for anyone who wasn't there for the supergroup comments with the last Slaughterhouse track; you missed out on a good debate. haha) |

@DJ J - I totally agree! The supergroup debate (well, it was more like a converstion) was amazing! And now I keep referring to Ludacris, CHamillionaire, Eminem, Kanye, and T-Pain as members of said supergroup! :)
Anyways, I aint gonna give no one sh*t for their opinions on their favorite (and second favorite) rappers. Like I said before, if we do not hve our own opinions, then we are not truly our own person. I personally do put Eminem as my favorite, probably just because he's white (as am I, if you couldn't tell), and I would probably put Chamillionaire as number two, because he's from Texas, and even though he's an H-Town guy, and I happen to be an Austin guy myself, he still represents the best state in the U.S.!!! (and he does so quite well, I'd say) On another note...I just had a thought. While looking through some other songs on the Booth, I've noticed a few people that have shown less than appreciation for homosexuals. Now, this may be too controversial a topic to discuss on the Booth, and if it doesn't get lot of feedback on here, I may ask it again. So here goes: how would the members of the Booth, as well as hip-hop fans around the world, react to an openly gay rapper coming into the game? I, for reasons that may or not be obvious, would have no problem at all with it. But, I want to know how the other members of the Booth would react. |

bowsser; 2 things:
1) I'm white as well so you're not alone there. lol. 2) I would have no issue whatsoever with a homosexual rap artist; the game is far too homophobic as of now and it could really use the wake up call. Homosexuals are human and deserve every opportunity offered to their straight counterpart. With that said, if there was a homosexual rap artist, I would strongly prefer (due to my sexual orientation) that they attempt social commentary and maybe club songs but nothing graphic about their sex lives. Now, I'm not being homophobic here, and if they choose to make songs about their sex lives, than I can respect that; I just probably wouldn't give those particular tracks a listen. I'm just not comfortable with a male rapping about sucking **** and anal and I mean that in the least homophobic way possible. I have a few homosexual friends and I have absolutely no problem with their sexual orientations (nor were me and my ex-girlfriend reluctant to double date with 2 gay men) but I'd just prefer not to hear of their sexual experiences; it's too foreign for me to be comfortable with it. [P.S. That one was really off topic. haha. We've turned this entire page into a debate] |

@DJ J - first off, lemme say that I am extremely happy to know that I'm not the only white Resident DJ on the Booth (no offense to any of my other fam).
Secondly, I really don't know why I brought it up. It just popped into my head as I waswatching Will and Grace and listening to Ludacris lol. I may try asking this again on one of the new tracks that comes out on Monday, because it would be very interesting to hear what some certain people would say about it. Which leds me to this. It's nice to know you feel that way. I've wanted an openly gay rapper for a long time, but it seems it will not change in the near future. However, I also agree with you that it wouldn't be mainstream appropriate to put tracks about that sh*t on the radio. Even though I myself am comfortable talking and hearing about it, not everyone will. But, whether they put stuff like that on their album or not, just to have someone (preferably an industry heavyweight) come out of the closet I think would be a nice change. And it would definitely be something and someone I'd support 100%. That is, if they could rap well against some good production. :) Like I said, I want to post that question again late sunday night/early Monday morning, just to see what people would respond to that. But it may be too controvertial. Oh well. I guess we'll find out. Wow...you're right. We went totally left field. I've posted more comments on this one song than I have on any other songs on the Booth in the past two weeks. Heh. No goin back now. |

This is 100% True: At the present time, I currently consider Lupe Fiasco the greatest rapper alive (most will disagree im shore), with Ludacris coming in second. Though I guess its depends on your personal tastes.
Ill give Eminem credit where it is due. In his prime, Eminem is the 3rd greatest rapper ever (1st Pac & 2nd B.I.G.) We really need a forum on DJBooth.net (the greatest hip hop site on the internet), this discussion has been good to read. And for the record, Bowwserr & DJ J, You two aint the only white residents here |

Here's mine: 1. Eminem 2. Lupe Fiacso 3. Kanye West 4. Jay-Z 5. Drake That's my "RIGHT NOW" list. I'd say with these meaty okra singles though...Em may be finding his way to the bottom of it...(Sad to say that too...) |

@Aussie_Pride - I find it interesting that your two top rappers ever happen to be the two that are deceased...is there a connection there?
My top 5: 1. Eminem (obviously, given my stance on the Em/Tupac debate) 2. Ludacris 3. Chamillionaire 4. Kanye West 5. Tech N9ne I know that Tech N9ne is the only one up there that wasn't in my Supergroup, but Paain isn't exactly top 5 material. But, given the other names on the list above, I would much rather have T-Pain than Tech N9ne on a track with the other guys. His voice matches up a whole lot better with the other 4 than N9ne's would. And I'm startin to agree with MH on this one. I like the spontneouty of our debates. Makes it more...exciting, I suppose. Only downside to it is that not very many people go back to any given track more than once, nd even fewer read the whole comment board. There's a whole lot of people I'm sure that have opinions on the Eminem/2Pac debate, but because they don't read the posts before them, they don't even know that the debate is going on! On a similar topic...I wonder what we're gonna debate about next week lol. I certainly look forward to it. Oh, and @SDawg23 - I repeat what I've said in my past comments. 2Pac may be the better RAPPER(which I still don't believe), but Eminem is hands down the better ARTIST. Big difference. |

The accent is weird. Other than that, first time I heard this, I hated it. Second time, realized it is that eminem "weird" song about killing people that I haven't heard in years, after listening for a while I got back in that mood you have to be in to listen to eminem and enjoyed it. Third time, realize that if you don't listen to this song closely, it is boring, if you listen closely, you realize its that crazy type of song that only eminem can get away with.

@DJ J - It's funny, cuz Jay-Z would be about #6 or 7 for me lol. I love what he did with Linkin Park. Still one of my favorite albums (if you haven't heard it yet, check out Numb/Encore. F*cking Classic) The reason I put Chamillionaire in my top 5 is because he's so underestimated, when he has one of the best flows in the game right now. My biggest reason though is because he's from Houston, and though I was born, raised, and still live in Austin, his music is still a lot less foreign to me than everyone else. And I just got done listening to his extended remix of Won't Let You Down. I have never enjoyed any other eighteen minute song in my life. He's simply amazing, and I don't even think we've seen him in his prime yet. When that time comes, however, you can be sure that he will make everyone's top 5.
As for Ludacris...the man is just genius. True, he doesn't have a whole bunch of serious tracks (one of the reasons I suppose he's so underestimated, as you said), but the ones I have heard from him, Runaway Love, for instance, are just amazing. He too has not yet hit his prime. But both Luda and Cham will have their days. And I for one am waiting very impatiently for those days to come. Because I don't think there is a single intelligent person on the Booth that can argue the fact that both are extremely talented men, who have each had their fair share of Bangers and Classics. I just wish that they could get more radio play, and that useless human beings like Lady GaGa, Flo Rida, Asher Roth, and Soulja Boy, four people who get seemingly nonstop airplay nowadays, go crawl in a hole somewhere for the rest of their lives. People need to listen to GOOD music. But, not all of us can actually appreciate music. Plus, Soulja Boy's songs sound so pretty!! (sarcasm on that last statement. lots and lots of sarcasm.) |

@bowwserr - Asher Roth & Lady GaGa are actually really talented (more Asher than Lady) and Flo Rida is actually good for what he does. True, they're not lyrical, but that doesn't necessarily make them bad artists. I completely agree with your opinion on Luda though. The man has one of the best flows in the game, murders every guest feature he's ever given, is the highest selling southern artist of all time (that's right Wayne riders; Ludacris HAS sold more albums), in addition to the fact he is the punchline KING. It's the undisputed truth; if Ludacris features on a track with your favorite rapper...Ludacris will be your new favorite rapper. lol. That's pretty much how it works. I pray that one day I can get him on a track with Tech; their flows are the best in the game; throw a little Cham in there (who is grossly underrated as well) [how crazy would it be for a Chamillionaire/Ludacris collabo album?!] and I can guarantee a 'classic' status.

@Bowwserr - Im actually going to change what I said before about the greatest of all time, I would have:
1. Tupac 2. Nas 3. B.I.G. 4. Eminem 5. Jay-Z The main reason I dont consider Eminem the greatest rapper ever (or in the top 3) is because I have never liked any of the comedy tracks that he comes out with (which is the main reason he's famous to begin with). When he makes deep, thought provoking tracks like 'Lose Yourself', 'Sing For The Moment' & 'Stan' I then enjoy listening to him, though those tracks always get overshadowed by his lame attempts at humor. If he wasnt so reliant on comedy, then I would consider him a better overall rapper. I probably do consider Eminem a better artist (like you said) then the likes of Pac & B.I.G. as he is much more proficient at making radio ready tracks then anyone else in contention of the 'greatest rapper ever' tag. Though your statement was that he's the greatest 'rapper' ever, that statement I completely disagree with. |

@DJ J - You might have a point on the whole Lady GaGa and Asher and Flo Rida thing, but what makes them failures in my eyes is the fact that they are so mainstream, they seem fake. Flo can't make a track that's original, GaGa's first two singles sounded EXACTLY THE SAME, and Asher is simply an Eminem wannabe, and I don't care how many people tell me otherwise, but I have a very strong feeling that he's using that to his advantage, which kind of sickens me.
My point in all that was that they have the potential, yes. But until that potential is put to good use, they're still wastes of some pretty lame production. And yes, a Ludacris/Chamillionaire collaboration would be EPIC! It'd probably be my number two favorite rap/hip-hop album of all time, the first being the Eminem Show (Till I Collapse is still one of the best rap songs of all time.) @Aussie_Pride - I actually find it funny that your top two in your recent top 5 list are two artists that Eminem bashes in Till I Collpse. Lol. But I disagree with you on your view of his funny tracks. Most of them, if you lissten closely, are not simply humor, but are in fact satire (dry humor). Yes, he is being comical; but at the same time, he's sending a real (although camouflaged) message about the world we live in. It's very interesting to hear, because in his funny tracks, he's actually talkin as much sh*t as he is in his serious tracks. Add all that to the fact that he's always radio ready, and you have the best artisit, as we both agree on. BUT!! He still remains the better rapper for me as well. This is mainly because of the fact that I am only 18 yers old, and therefore did not grow up listening to Pac. I did, however, hear Eminem frequently. Which is probably why I prefer Eminem over 2Pac any day. P.S. I know this is an extremely long comment, but I just need to make sure everyone knows this. 2Pac is (or was) an OUTSTANDING RAPPER who will never be forgotten! I respect him very much. I just have more respect for Eminem. |

@bowwserr - I've agreed with you on most topics up until now but I just wanted to point out that Eminem never bashes anyone in "'Til I Collapse"; the line you're thinking of (I'm pretty sure) is: "I got a list
Here's the order of my list that it's in - It goes Reggie, Jay-Z, Tupac and Biggie Andre from Outkast, Jada, Kurupt, Nas and then me". This is actually Eminem listing his favorite rappers and where he ranks himself. In other words he claims Reggie (Redman), Jay-Z, Tupac, Biggie, Andre 3000, Jada, Kurupt and Nas are all superior artists. I don't exactly agree with him; but this is the so called "bashing" you mentioned and its actually the exact opposite. P.S. Asher and Eminem have completely different music. Asher is laid back/chilled have-a-good-time type of thing while Em is more crazy/psychotic. Just because they have a similar voice doesn't make them the same. The closest thing Em has ever done to "I Love College" is "Drug Ballad" and the tracks are similar only in the fact they're about using illegal substances to party. lol. Em has never had a "Lark On My Go Kart"; just as Asher will never have a "Kim". Asher is his own artist. |

I regret just rating it and not even joining in to the DEBATE (I mean Browwser's comments could equal to about 3 A4 pages lol). I feel I was a bit harsh on the rating system and after second listen I have come to the conclusion of making this a banger. As much as I agree with that Eminem is better you have to understand that 2pac was the greatest rapper alive at the time and no matter what, you would have never known what he would be throwing out into the music industry if he'd still be here today (miss you man). For that reason I rate him, in my list, right at the top along with Jay-Z and Ludacris. (I might as well carry on:
4) Nas 5) Lupe 6) Then it's Shady (I had to MAN!) |

Anyhow, on the Asher comment (didn't the Booth already have this debate? lol), I just can't stop thinking, poser, poser, poser. I mean, not all white boys can rap. And he may have "potential," but just like people keep waiting for Em's first serious track to judge if Relapse will be any good, I need to hear a serious one from Asher (and actually be able to sit through it) before I can be impressed. First impressions are a big del to me, and his wasn't great with "College." @!!!Stunna!!! - Are my long comments a bad thing? Lol. Just for that, I'm makin this one long, too. To be honest when I was a kid I would've automatically rated him top, along with Fiddy nd 2pac put recently he's not showing that consistency that he produced back then. Leaving 50 out of this (because he is definitely not in the top 10) Eminem just ain't showing 'all' of himself, he's definitely showing some and I appreciate that.

I feel like its hard to make a distinction between the best rappers and your favorite rappers. For example, I acknowledge Nas as a great rap artist, with good flow and great lyrics, but you won't catch me bumping his stuff often or at all.
I find it hard to pick a top 5, because so many artists have had amazing songs, but have failed on other tracks. It is very hard to find a rapper who EVERY song he makes your gonna love, artists make different songs to appeal to different people, so your not going to like everything. However, I will not attempt to make a list of the top 5 rappers (not necessarily my favorite, but most lyrically skilled, uniqueness, long time presence in the game etc...) 1) Notroious B.I.G 2) Eminem 3) Tupac 4) Snoop Dogg 5) Andre 3000/lupe fiasco Now a few of my FAVORITE artists (random order) include: 1) Busta rhymes 2) Bun B 3) Paul Wall 4) Gucci Mane 5) Lil Wayne Eminem used to be my favorite, growing up with all the contoversy surrounding him, but when I listen to his stuff today, it just reminds me of being in Jr. High or something when listening to it was the "cool thing" because of the lyrics etc.., for some reason I just don't like it quite as much as before. |

@!!!Stunna!!! - Well, thank you very much. It's flattering to hear that I've defended my fvorite rapper well. And this debate BY FAR has been the best and most enjoyable, partly because it's not easy to tell who's gonna win it. As for now, I believe we should call it a stale mate. Netiher side is obviously going to give in, and if we keep going, I fear it may never stop. But, I must say to those that I debted with, y'all had extremely great points. My opinion of 2Pac has definitely increased because of this debate, although he still comes in a close second to Eminem in my opinion.
And thank you for clarifying your opinion of Eminem. I had no real problem with him being #6 in your list, because that's your opinion. All I needed was n explantion, which you gave me, so I thank you. @frozilla33 - I find your comment about the whole junior high thing very intriguing. I my not be out of high school yet (only a month and a half left!!), but Eminem's serious tracks still give me that same goosebump feeling that they did when they first came out. And I have a feeling that Eminem hasn't shown anything near what he's hopefully going to give us in the near future, although it would be nice if he released a serious track. I miss gettin new ones from him. Well, it seems this debate hs reached its end. Unless of course, somebody else wants to debate it, then I'm ll ears! Regrdless, thank you to those that participated. I find myself loving music even more now. And my love for the greatest rapper of all time (yes, it's still Eminem) has grown even more. It was fun, and I can't wait for the next one! I even have a question in mind that I want to ask on one of the next tracks that comes out tonight/tomorrow morning. I hope more people will join in! Preferably on my side of the debate. :) |

I think the production is hot, but I'm quite tired of his flow, it really gets on my nerves. Except for some songs I've never been a huge fan of Eminem, neither in the past. It's a solid track but not my cup of tea

Eminem lost it. His style changed from angry to whiny and I'm not liking it. Still give him props on the rhyming though. Only reason he gets a 2 star instead of 1 star.

Not sure whats with the new sounding vocals, this is not the sound i'm used too. Now the lyrics and the style is the same, its like they switched him out though. Yes Em is the best around and out. I have yet to try this in the club.

alright song, you can deffinetly tell eminem is struggling for material. great concept and story, but it just seems like hes trying to hard for that "shady" feel. his voice just doesnt have that natural unique sound to it, but with out a doubt still a good song to help out hip-hop. in rotation!

umm... sweet debate im feeling the vibe in the booth, and now im prolly gonna sound like a broken record but eminem is also my favourite of all time, i first heard this song on the booth but through wht the **** is this sh*t, and was gonna give a really harsh rating, but took time to think about it... and predictibale as it was, my feeling of the song changed. first being `this is sh*t` then `this is lyricall madness`. back on the point of the debate i will have to agree with bowwserr when i say eminem is to infront of 2pac

The lyrics and rhyme pattern get 10 stars, its miles ahead of any other rapper ever. But am I the only one who thinks that Eminem flows every song with a sing-song flow? I liked when he just came hard and didnt sound like he was singing an Fing nursery whyme to his kid. Im personally sick of it. HOWEVER, it still gets banger status.

The was the song where he introduced his new accent, which intially... I didn't like it. The beat wasn't outstanding either. The lyrics were mindblowing if you actually try to listen to it, but this song its not my favorite.
