I remember the day like it was just yesterday. It was my 16th birthday and my father took me to the DMV for my driving exam. Inexplicably, I failed my test. I went back the following day, however, and victory reigned supreme (the key is to find older, female examiners). So, what does this story have to do with the new record that Eminem himself premiered Thursday morning on his Sirius station, Shade 45? Well, upon passing my exam, my folks made one thing crystal clear: nothing good happens in the early morning hours. For proof of my parents’ infinite wisdom, take a listen to Slim’s 3 A.M., a five-minute lyrical slaughterhouse (literally). In addition to revealing that he masturbates to Hannah Montana, the Shady one details his own murder in a series of nightmares, and how too many Vicodin and shots of Jack Daniels drove him to brutally dismember his cousin. Oddly enough, it has never been more appropriate to say the following: Welcome back, Marshall!

This is classic EMIN3M. Krazy as usual. Smart to keep with a formula that works. This is better to me than the last 2 songs he put out, Crack a bottle, and We Made You. I can't Wait for his album to drop. 4/5 Im still waiting for that 5 star Classic to drop. I know its coming sooooon :D

This is way better than We Made You and Crack a Bottle by far. I like the dark production and the hook sounds fresh! The lyrics are crazy on here as usual this is the first Em song im diggin right here. Classic! Em is back!

He has some tight lyrics on here but that Hannah Montana line was weird and creepy like "that1kid13" said. The production is pretty good and the hook is OK. Em can do better.

Great production from Dre but this is yet another disappointment to me lyrically. It's not bad in any sense but it's just not the highest-caliber of Slim. Not to mention this accent is just killing the mood. Honestly, I feel as if Relapse would sell more if no singles were ever released; that way the hype would build all the way to its release. It would've gone platinum solely off of hype; yet here we are, 2 singles deep, and neither are what I'd like to hear. *Lowering Expectations*

anyone who thinks these lyrics are weird needs to go re-listen to ALL of Eminem's albums. nothing this dude says should shock you by now. great production, grinds hard, BUT not really single-worthy... great album track.

This is pretty tight. Nice to see the crazy Slim Shady that everyone expects. iT'S always nice to listen to his crazy lyrics that either make you laugh, cringe, or just roll your eyes. Good enough for rotation.

The accent and high-pitched voice tone... :s not enjoyable in a supposedly creepy track. Kinda monotonous flow (kills the expressiveness) and annoying ("brain contusions again" @ 2:17 is like that part is on repeat for 15 seconds!).
This beat is nothing compared to what Dre can do, please don't say it's great... it only makes me remember of the really great ones he did and how long it's been since I heard a new one. I loved "I'm having a relapse", but only the lyrics and diction pleased me on this one. Where's "The Way I Am", "Cleanin out my closet", "Lose Yourself", "Sing for the Moment", "Like Toy Soldiers" Eminem?!? This one is not moving! |

Where is Eminem and who is this replacement character? 3AM is wack sauce yo. I mean, it’s straight…but this new voice is super annoying now. I want a sincere Eminem joint like “The Way I Am” I don’t know WTFlip this mess is? Ugh…I have a feeling that “Relapse” might be very disappointing. This is pretty ordinary considering he's thought to be the 'greatest rapper alive'. Looks like that crown isn't as undisputed as some still believe. If the next song released by Em is wack, then I believe the greatest rapper alive tag will be up for grabs.

LMFAO I just noticed that Em bashes Wild Bill At 3:00!! I HAD to repeat comment on this one after the Em over 2Pac controversy about to start.. I'm sorry Z, But I completely agree.. Eminem is one of my biggest Idols, And before anyone thinks its because hes a white rapper, My number 1 Idol Is Will Smith loll, But I think that its because Em is more around my time.. 2Pac is Legendary in everyone eyes, But everyone has there opinion, Mine being Em is the greatest period because I grew up listening to him, I didnt even hear of 2Pac growing up.. No disrespect, but Em Is My choice as stated.

@bowwserr - dude are you kidding? 2Pac had a sick flow and his lyrics were hands down better than anyone that has ever stepped up to a mic. He had a message in every song. Em is great and maybe a top 5 all-time rapper (for sure top 10) but he doesn't compare to 2Pac at all. 2Pac is the best ever.
