Emilio Rojas - High Level Sh*t
Artist: Emilio Rojas
Featuring: Freeway
Producer: V12 The Hitman
Album: None
Label: Unsigned
When a song is titled High Level Sh*t, you’re setting yourself up for a lot of criticism if you don’t deliver. However, Emillio Rojas doesn’t have much to worry about. On his new stand alone cut with Freeway (who always brings some high level sh*t), Emillio has some bars and lets you know what kind of dude he really is. Flowing over the V12 The Hitman production, Emillo spits lines like “And if your mama raised you a good girl, your mama raised you wrong,” letting you know he wants bad girls who are good at doing bad things. While the topics revolve around money, bad b*tches, and being on an amazing level of dopeness (which every rapper raps about) with the heavy drum hits and guitar blazing instrumental, this one is actually believable. Emillo’s flow is on point, and although Freeway is borderline yelling at me, the two with the help of a banging instrumental do get their point across. This is some High Level Sh*t.

I really like Emilio and Free - this is very well documented - and the lively production from V12 is on point, but I am not overly crazy about this record. I thought that "High Level Shit" would be a bit higher, I guess. Still, though, enjoyable as is.

I don't really like the beat on here. It's lacking structure. Emilio sounds good on this. His flow is making the beat better as the song goes on. Freeway was a good contrast. I'll give it a few spins.

Usual heat from Emilio. He always brings it. I think Free provided a nice contract.

Wow, a song I wasn't really feeling from Emilio, a sure rarity, I thought Freeway really brought this level to life but overall nothing special.

the beat has some slick drumline and Drum'n'Bass influence.. fresh to see producers bringing in other styles.. although the mids and highs are placed well and the bottom end is muddy.. needs a serious EQ work.. but definitely has a lot of potential with the right polish.. Emilio's lyrics are witty... a tad different than the other generic metaphor recyclers out there.. good job.. just work on the production and EQ .. get everything to sit in the mix better and youd have a cool track..
