The Embassy Music Board - Sweet
Artist: The Embassy Music Board
Producer: DJ Green Lantern
Album: EPITFA: Extra Cargo
Label: Embassy Music Board
As it turns out, the Embassy Music Board left a few things behind when they embarked upon their debut street release, and the ATL-based quartet are now preparing to showcase all the Extra Cargo that didn’t quite fit on Embassy Presents International Ties Foreign Affairs. As evidenced by this new leak, though, the bonus mixtape will be much more than a plate of reheated leftovers. Borrowing the production from DJ Green Lantern‘s Barry Manilow-sampling remix of Hova‘s Sweet, Big A, K.O., Baby D.O.E., and Manolo fill us in on how far they’ve come in the music game and just how high they hope to climb in the future, acknowledging that life at the top isn’t always what it seems and paying tribute to those they’ve lost along the way. Brimming with thoughtful, ambitious lyricism, this cut is sure to leave many hungry for a second serving of the globetrotting foursome’s eclectic, style-jumping take on hip-hop. If you fall into that category, keep your browsers trained on our front page; EMB are set to drop off their Extra Cargo “soon.”

I kinda liked the sample, and the production was cool. To be honest, though, this track had me a little bored. It was aight, but I wouldn't listen to it again.

This is the snoozer on the booth today (which has some big names featured today). The production is a little dull & EMB can come way harder then this.

I thought all around, the track was decent. Production was pretty cool and EMB was decent. They switched up their style from their last track. I can't hate, I'll give it a 3.

Still enjoy EMB, even though it might not be the best one we've seen from them on the site. Good stuff.

S'up with the harsh ratings people? ;)
I'm with CB on this one. I could care less if a song is not energetic as long as it has depth (both lyrically and melodically) like this one. I find EMB very expressive, they sound really passionate about their music and joints like this require an artistic mentality. Love the production! |

A 4-bagger no doubt. Love the Hovie sample (courtesy of Green Lantern). Other than DONNIS, EMB is my favorite act out of the ATL right now.

The production is xtra smooth & aurally pleasing with that sample .... the best that can be said bout EMB is that they complement each other well & sound comfortable together, which is no small feat in a group that runs four men deep .... BANGER!!!

I think the production on this is pretty good, but I found it a little distracting over the first verse, the hook was unexpected but I really liked it, saved the track for me because I was sleeping a lil bit for the rest of it
