Two ladies from Toronto (Naomi, Sarah), and another two from New York City (Lesley, Binkie), form the singing quartet of Electrik Red, a group which cannot really be classified as pop, R&B, or anything that has ever been heard before.  Newly signed to Def Jam, the group’s label representatives have wasted no time rolling out the red carpet (pun intended) and have hooked up the girls up with their A-list songwriter-producer tandem, The-Dream and Tricky Stewart, for the new song, Drank in My Cup,  on which the recently-featured multi-threat maintains the girls’ futuristic sound while displaying their own creativity.  Although Electrik Red’s debut album currently has no release date set, you can peep DJBooth’s exclusive interview with The-Dream and Tricky Stewart.

Hmm, interesting team of NYC and Toronto. I agree, this beat is sick, proving that Dream and Tricky Stewart are killin the game right now. The singers are a little too slow for me, and the song kind of drags on. Their vocals need work, but I would probably feel this song a lot better if my "drank" was in my body rather than my cup. So for now, I'm giving it a SOBER 2/5.

As Def Jam signees, I hope this is not their breakout single. They have the right names attached to this track, but it doesn't really show off what they can do. I guess I can understand if they're trying to bring out something a little different. And I suppose it might take me a bit of time to digest it, but aside from the addictive beat, I don't feel anything special about the group. I'll give it a few more listens, but I do feel the group has potential though.

The production is good. Content is terrible. I recognize the lady on the far right from some of my favorite music videos. This is alright.

T. DOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This production is off the chains! The whole vibe of this is pretty illy, but the hook is trash. The feeling this gives me reminds me of that new Ciara joint with Ludacris where she is singing Opera-ish. I'll throw this in rotation, because it sounds pretty cool. It's not the best though, and I agree, it's not the greatest debut single. I can actually hear Luda hitting up a feature verse on here for a remix though...definitely.

The content couldn't be more generic. And nobody in this group has a stand-out voice. Next try

This sounds good. Simplistically good. I need to hear this on better and louder speakers. This song probably will sound good in clubs. I really like this.

1. Them glasses make them look like bugs.
2. Girl on the far right is in every single music video ever made. She is sexy as hell.
3. This song is wack.

Who are these, the new PCD? The production is hot but they are boring! Such a waste of a good beat

i wasnt the biggest fans of dream and tricky before the interview becuz i felt alot of their shit sound the same, while i have gained respect for them but this song is wack and dream has a cookie cutter formula when it comes to writing , the beat is sick tho

This is a quite interesting selection for their introduction into the mainstream. As I have been informed by the label, their new style (not to mention a website) is still being created. This is literally hot off the presses (or should I say mixing station.) I'd like to hear more before I pass overall judgment. Record gets a 3.

Man... this song had so much potential! wtf is up with the chorus? The production is crazy, but too bad this song is going to be used to get the people out of the club when time for closing.

Honestly I'd love an instrumental with a harder hitting bass-note. Back to the drawing board plz. Biggest issue is a lack of portrayed energy like a Lil Jon' track when his ish was all the rage.

Good club banger. But... I think the problem is they are all trying to sound identical. There's no real backbone. It sounds as if one woman could have sang the whole thing by her self by just changing her "pitch" just a little.
