Despite the miserable weather these past few weeks, El Prez has given us all a reason to celebrate (unless you bet a hefty sum on Peyton going the distance), and no winning moment is complete without a few Victory Lapse (pardon the pun). This upbeat single from the Cali native allows listeners to join along in the hard-earned success that Prez has been experiencing, and along for the ride is Von Pea and Donwill (of Tanya Morgan), who together prove that there is no slowing down for the new school hip-hop movement. Backed by an instrumental production from A3 that echoes the track’s positive nature, Prez puts his verbal skills to good use letting us know just how deep his love for hip-hop runs: “From the moment I was born I was trying to get on…I spit flows in my sleep, when I watered the lawn.” If you liked this musical food for thought, be sure to check out his latest creation, Animal Style!, out this Monday. As always, keep it locked to the Booth for more.

El Prez is apart of this incredibly dope group of artists from the West, whose new sound and style is very refreshing.

Kudos to the Tanya Morgan fellas for hooking up with Prez cross country and A3 for the jazzy production that doesn't get boring or monotonous. While I would have preferred a little more energy on the hook it fits the record.

You definitely have to be in a mellowed out mood to properly enjoy this one (how you get relaxed is up to you). Props to Prez for the Chapelle show reference on his verse, to 2/3 of Tanya Morgan for the always ill flows and A3 for not pushing the jazzy production too hard. Quality.
