Hailing from Baltimore, E Major is probably a new name to Booth listeners. However, with a laid back flow and very positive vibe, this cat is making sure that this isn’t his first and only time on the site. Off of his upcoming Better Than Yours EP, new single Where You Came From is a jazzy self-produced song with cuts by the infamous DJ Face. Backed by a hook that is smooth and sincere as genuine leather (courtesy of J. Hill), E Major and Booth vet King Mez trade verses in this unique summer love song. Mez spews out some high light bars with lines like, “With only one look/ she had my breath short / and I was wondering if I could be her escort,” but the star of this show is E Major who, while still some improvement in his flow (he is at times choppy) comes through with stellar rhymes like “She said she I ain’t a piece of meat/ I said I ain’t a carnivore.” Regardless, I’m sure the ladies, and the Booth at large, will eat this one up and ask for seconds.

Definitely some props on creativity alone. Not sure exactly what i expected as i was getting ready to listen to this but i know this was the last thing i was thinking. Something about the track just works. Everything fits together well. Each of the rappers flow nicely over the beat.

One of those records where all the collaborators - emcees, singer, production - are able to come together very nicely. Nothing sounds forced and their sounds mesh well together.

Really nice vibe, and everyone does well. I have to say, E Major himself might be the least compelling part of the track, but that's no diss. The man's got the lyrics and, if like Quentin said, he tightens up the flow a bit we'd really be banging.
Props for the Mos Def "Ms. Fat Booty" sample. Goddamn that's a classic track. |

I liked the beat, verses was straight but E needs more charisma and cadence when he rhymes to convince the listener. His lyrics are good too. A good example of someone who spits this style of music but does it well would be Slug of Atmosphere. I wasn't liking the hook, it was kinda boring. Overall with some tweaks this could be dope...Mez verse was cool too. Keep at it

Great song! I love the track! It had a simplistic rhythm to it, but it was layered with great sonic detail. The emcees brought the right laidback kind of cadence, flow, and delivery you're supposed to bring on a track like this. Feels right in the pocket to me. Great song from E Major, J. Hill, and King Mez!
