The phrase “get money” may be a modern phenomenon, but the pursuit of cash is as old as time itself (our Founding Fathers were known to holler “procure financial compensation!”). Bay Area godfather E-40 continues his unique brand of hyper-lyrical hip-hop on his new track Get Money, a synth heavy banger produced by – no, I’m not making this up – Drew Money and featuring strong verses from B Legit and Young Jeezy, who comes dangerously close to making the track his own. Get Money’s universal appeal is undoubtedly aimed at continuing to expand 40’s appeal beyond the Bay, and while some long time fans may be disappointed, new comers may just find themselves chanting along with the chorus. Expect to see hear more odes to inflated bank accounts when E-40 releases his new album Revenue Retrieving, currently slated to drop November, 24.

Money, money, money. That's all its ever about. Other than that though, this song is sick nasty. Jeezy comes real hard on this beat (I love synth-heavy beats, even if they sound generic). 40 sounded good too. I always love his flow. B-Legit was respectable too. This is definitely goin on the pod.

As I told 40 on Saturday when we spoke, I would have preferred to hear him lay down 2 verses instead of one. With that small critique behind us, this knocks. Hard.

Production is just average and that hook completely ruins the whole vibe of the track for me. Without that part it could've been Rotation-Stuff.

I don't have a problem with songs about money. Everyone needs money, it's a perfectly legitimate topic but that hook is whackness defined.

Jeezy was surprisingly decent (especially considering I usually can't stand his voice) E-40 came correct and B-Legit played his part in making this track decent.

Everyone's "Jeezy killed this" comments are good news for the track, bad news for E-40. An artist should never get outdone on his own track. You're better that this 40, you're better than this.

I like the production but I think they are just noisy, especially in the hook. I'm tired of money themed songs, but besides this, horrible hook

jeezy was great on this track, the production wasn't too bad but the hook was kinda annoying to me, but who knows it may grow on me. e-40 wasnt too bad but i think jeezy outperformed him by a bit. b-legit (i wonder what he thinks about snitches haha) was pretty good. if this was a better song, this would be my anthem but its still my motto so its all good. in rotation

Sorry, Nathan, but.. wait for it... Jeezy killed this one here. It's quite surprising 'cause 40 Watter usually has a crazy flow and his verses are usually the highlight of a song. Jeezy made this song his. There is NO WAY this is supposed to be E-40's song. E-40 did horrible and his voice only shows up for his verse. It's OK but Jeezy's energy makes it a 3.

Jeezy did his thang that he does. 40 could have came harder but does he need to? B-Legity sounded like the B of the old days which is not a bad thing at all. The beat was average at best. I think they could have made a better song with those three on the track but it gets in rotation for sure.
