As we all witnessed last year, electoral candidates are often met with just as much skepticism as praise. However, there is a runner this year that has been getting his share of votes to remain on his throne, and has no problem showing the world his Family Jewels. “The Rap Mayor” himself, Dynas, is back in the Booth for his third appearance on our pages with a raspy, old-school joint produced by DJ Spinna that’s got some serious East Coast boom-bap flavor. Joining Dynas for the lyrical rise is the legendary Slick Rick, who straight Kobe’s his feature (I’m beginning to think the eye patch is the source of his rhyme powers). Dynas has been on the grind lately, pushing his album, The Apartment (out now). Anytime an emcee wants to bring Slick Rick out from behind the curtain for a guest contribution... fine by me. This has a great old school feel. Tracks like this are the reason why I always tried to memorize lyrics as a child. Good stuff.

Love the old school vibe on here, heavily influenced by the good old days. This song won't put Dynas on the map, but he has my attention and respect. Slick Rick only pops out every once in a while, so you know he's not jumping on anything unless it's hot.
