Dumbfoundead - Cellphone
Artist: Dumbfoundead
Featuring: Wax , Breezy Lovejoy
Producer: Vishnu & Breezy Lovejoy
Album: DFD
Label: Unsigned
Hip-hop has no shortage of anthems aimed at getting the party started, or even continuing the party until six in the morning, but very rarely do we get a glimpse of the aftermath of all that Patron-infused festivity. Well, I guess we can consider Dumbfoundead’s new video single, Cellphone, rap’s new hangover anthem. Producer Vishnu and Breezy Lovejoy sets off the morning-after with an appropriately throbbing beat with the restorative powers of a Bloody Mary which the headliner immediately puts to work backing his blackouted rhymes: “Gotta make a run for that Gatorade punch / head pounding on the drum like a 808 drum.” Similarly alcohol poisoned are fellow partygoers Lovejoy, who can’t seem to follow his own advice to stick to the weed, and fellow L.A. representer Wax, who The DJBooth regulars won’t be surprised to see still living that Scrublife. Fans in need of some music throw on the next time they drink four-too-many Irish Car Bombs can find Cellphone on Dumbfoundead’s previously released DMD album, available now via iTunes. In the meantime, remember – listen responsibly.

This isn't anything that is going to blow your mind, but it has a pretty funny story to it. Being in college, this has def happened to my homies & I.

This was pretty cool and so true on many different levels. Good lyrical work by everyone. The beat was really simple but in a good way.

The song is pretty good, but I think the video is worth a four...definitely a fun song/video. Lovin' the POV at the beginning of Wax's verse

Dumbfoundead and Wax are great as usual. They are so good at incorporating humor into their tracks and relating to their listeners. I had not heard of Breezy Lovejoy before, but I really like his voice. Great music video too.

My mate recently got me into Dumbfoundead and his rap battles, he's got wit & charm about him, big things ahead imo. Great track. Uber intelligent.

This song is on repeat on my playlist. There is not a weak link in Dumbfoundeads newest album, but this song makes a stand out with Breezy Lovejoys smooth chorus as well as three well written verses to push a story line. It also helps that all three of them are on the top of the game from hip-hop and have such different voices and visions.
