Drique London - Knockin
Artist: Drique London
Producer: DJ Semaj
Album: Gordian Knot
Label: Unsigned
While Carolina emcee Drique London has been absent from the Booth since the June release of Party, the artist returns to our pages with a sample of what we can expect on his upcoming Gordian Knot EP with DJ Semaj. On Gordian Knot’s first single, Knockin, Drique jumps on Semaj’s laidback, bass-driven production with the intensity of an emcee on a mission. The North Carolina emcee sends out a bold warning on Knockin‘s hook as he raps, “Now you see us and you wanna get rid of us / But it’s best you get used to us because we knockin down your block, block.” If the EP’s first single has already grabbed your attention then lookout for the Gordian Knot EP when it is released for free download on August 21.

I don't know that I'd describe this record as "knockin," but it is an enjoyable listen nonetheless.

The beat's the standout here imo.
Good flow, but the voice is too sharp for my liking; if it was stronger/warmer and more room filling this would clearly be a 4/5. |

This track had me bouncin all the way through. Nice beat with a sick snare drum and Drique London's lyrics kept everything right. Feelin this one...
