If you happen to be employed (if that’s even the word) as a pirate, you know that when someone threatens you with images of Davey Jones’ Locker, it’s essentially shop-talk for sending you to a watery grave. You’d have to be a real oddball to go searching for that metaphorical locker – an oddball like Hollyweerd member Go Dreamer. This newly-leaked EP inclusion finds the Crazy Girlz singer/emcee once again caught up in a perilous, potentially life-threatening romance. Like Clockwork handles production duties, crafting a genre-pureeing guitar/sample backdrop for verses brimming with nautical nonsense (“Land ho, you ho, I think it’s time for you to walk the plank…). As usual, the artist doesn’t confine himself to rhyming; on the contrary, he showcases his skills as a pop-rock vocalist on the driving chorus, which comes complete with a couple disorienting key changes. So, arrrr you enjoying this left-of-center banger? If so, keep it locked for release details on Dreamer’s forthcoming Animals and Machines EP, currently scheduled to drop in summer 2011.

Why is this on Djbooth?! Its so not rap or hip hop till the end (Which was dope may I add) and though the question I asked is usually followed by a negative I thought this was overall sickkk. Deff hittin' DL

Hey "Rycurt11" - something doesn't have to be "hip hop" is its classic form to be considered for feature on the site. This is plenty unique and left of center, no doubt, but this genre has been bending and shifting plenty throughout its history and this is just as oddly catchy and original as anything a boring old rapper could concoct. Glad you liked it enough to download.

Unique and refreshing. I'm not sure if I am totally feeling it, but I'll give Dreamer props for being really creative and trying something unconventional. I think it is a little too pop-ish in some places for me.

i like the weezer'esque chorus, and i appreciate the fact that DJ booth is pushing boundries. I would of never heard that kyle lucas joint with the screaming if it wasnt for that. *Salute*
