Remember back in the day (April) when I said that The-Dream’s Love King (Remix) with Jeezy was only a prelude, and that the “official official” remix would feature none other than Ludacris? Would I lie to you? (Why am I writing in rhetorical questions?) Anyway, the point is that we now have in our virtual hands the aforementioned second Love King (Remix), and it was well worth the wait. On the production side of the coin this is an actual “remix”, meaning L.O.S. da Mystro gives the beat a fresh coat of paint, while on the microphone side of things Dream is as smooth as even and the Ludameister, predictably, absolutely murders the track with a spitfire flow (why does he always save his best work for other peoples songs?). So now the inevitable question: which is better? The original, the remix, or the double-remix? Will The-Dream deliver another classic album when Love King drops on June 22? Will I ever stop asking questions? We’ll find out soon.

Like Nathan said, I'm a big fan of the actual remix tactic. You know, where they really REMIX the song (not tack on a hot 16 from their favorite label-approved rapper). No complaints, I'm a big fan.

The original "Love King" was a classic, mostly because it grew on me over time. So did his leaked single "F.I.L.A." and also "Make Up Bag" leaked today. All of these songs are simply amazing. Honestly I don't think he will top "Love Vs Money", but I do think that he is going to come damn close.

Luda's got some crazy flow, this is a step up from the original. Overall it's a pretty typical track, but it's well done.

Did Nathan just refer to Love vs. Money as a "Classic album"? Does this mean Nathan resigns his 4.5 rating and we have the first ever 5-spins classic album on DJ Booth? =O
Awesome track. Luda and The-Dream are a beast tag team. Can you imagine how epic a Ludacris album would be with all the production being handled by The-Dream and Tricky Stewart? Sounds like a classic. |

I wasn't really a big fan of the original or the other remix, but Ludacris made this song so much better. Dream has been releasing some pretty hot material lately and adding Ludacris was a great idea. Ludacris spits a nice verse in the opening intro of the track followed by Dream's unique vocals. I can't complain, Ludacris shined on this. Hook was really the only thing I that I still continue to hate hearing. It's not amazing, but it is in rotation nonetheless.

Great track to begin with and when you add Luda, a fresh new beat, and new vocals from unarguably one of the most talented R&B artists out there it's gotta be a Banger... And then some... 4.5

Now THIS is a remix. The-Dream took this song in a completely different direction, and its for that that I can't choose a favorite; its not comparable to the original. Its a hell of a lot better than that wack Jeezy verse though. This remix sounds like a 90s slow jam with amazing rap vocals from Ludacris. I still prefer the original, but this is 5 stars nonetheless. It is special in its own way. Thanks for reviving the "remix", The-Dream!

His remixes are ALWAYS better than the original. I almost slept on it, thinking it was the same beat, but I'm glad I didn't. Pure heat. Luda's fast flow worked for me 2.

This is better version than the original, but thats not saying much. Dream needs step out the formula music hit box and try something new. Hes too afraid to try anything new and it shows on all of his one dimensional songs.

When a song is remixed such as this one, it allows listeners to become fans of a song they didn't like originally. I am not the fan of Love King but I am a fan of the Luda Remix. I enjoy Luda so much and am delighted that he is a consistent presence in mainstream. Luda does sexual songs so well and this remix is further proof of that. Dream delivers a better performance on this remix in comparison to the original. Only thing I would alter is the chorus - I know its a remix...everything screams remix so please be more creative in your hook and not repetitively tell me it's a remix.

I enjoyed the fact that they really muthafcukin Remixed it but their past records - these are about the only things this recorded output can claim to bear any resemblance to - not that it’s a bad thing. However, variety clearly isn’t the trio’s forté. But adding Luda! to the mix... and so was born my love for the Remix.

Dream's production is getting a bit repetitive. I swear I've heard this beat 20 times before.
Luda kills that opening verse though. He always seems to take two verses on guest pieces these days. I like it :D |

Sweet baby jesus I love Luda's flow on this one. If I had to put together a list of my favorite Luda verses, well over half of them would be guest verses. There's something about other people's tracks that just inspire the man.
Props to Dream and Los for actually remixing the track, even if the beat's essentially just a compilation of all their usual production tricks, like that squeaky noise thing Los always uses (you know what I'm talking about). |

Sorry, too more quick points.
@DJ Z - Surprised you didn't point our Luda's "Mazel tov" line. I know you loved that one. @Mr. Phantastic - Honestly, I'm really paranoid about assigning five star albums, but in retrospect if I had it to do over again, yes, I would have given Love vs. Money five stars. It's really stood the test of time. |

@Nathan - I am a big fan of the "Mazel Tov" line, but after Hova and Black Eyed Peas its getting a little old.

Liking the new beat. Luda spits fire on this. Love how he speeds up and slows down. Dream's vocals are alright on this. I'd have to say that the OG version was better.

Why are people obsessed with mofo remixes. I think a remix should be completely different from the original and not just someone adding their voice to the track (no respect to Luda cause he's the man) Its ok as a remake but its nothing insanely hype, its just the same song with cognac luda drops.

First 10 seconds made me like it, Luda's verse is freakin EPIC, Dream was boring after Luda's verse in my opinion, but when he said "all up on me" it got better, his second verse was great
Um....damn....beats not doing that much for me, original beat, these lyrics |

Damn, Ludacris has got to be on of the best at guest featuring, though his solo work is usually just as good. The only thing I didn't like about it was the beat, I just wasn't feeling it.
