Early this month, Dre-Ski hit a home run in the Booth with his first feature, the hypnotically head-nodding, J. Cole-produced Empty Paradise. Now, the D.C. rapper’s back to turn his smash-hit Booth debut into a winning streak with It’s Getting Old, a lyrically downtrodden but catchy-as-all-get-out meditation on the seemingly endless waiting game that comes with being an up-and-coming rap artist. In addition to Ski’s heartfelt, easily-relatable rhymes, this track boasts some downright stellar boardwork from fledgling beatsmith Haidar “The Madman” Naghmi – for his production debut, HH blends a sped-up sample with reverb-drenched percussion and equally high-pitched ‘Ay!’ accents to create a left-of-center Chipmunk-style beat that going to be on ‘repeat’ in my head for the next couple days. It’s Getting Old is set to be included on Dre-Ski’s forthcoming Cloud 8.7 mixalbum, but in the meantime fans can enjoy his Follow Me mixtape, available now online.

The title of this song and my thoughts about it couldn't be further apart. And say what? This is the FIRST beat ever produced by The Madman? Really? Did he know I am (also) a sucker for chipmunk samples? Banger.

I like it, from the beat to the lyrics. He did it good and he was hard. The madman did an incredible job for his debut.

Someone needs to tell his management to get a new photo, those Kanye shutter shades are played out.
Anyway, on a musical level this is a damn good track, the claps in the production make it much more than just another Chipmunk track. Beat's sick, and Dre-Ski definitely drops a flow to match. |

Man, I feel this like hard. Does anyone else feel like his first verse has the same flow and everyone like "Wheres the Love" outcast. Haha, at first I was like WTF. Banger though.

Score - 2 for 2.
After hearing his introductory joint "Paradise" right here on Booth! I went to his myspace and I gotta say dude is good. Of all the tracks posted there the one that stood out to me most was "Nova Gurl". Yes, you guessed it right, it also boasts chipmunk vocals. Rotation-Stuff. |

lyrically i was impressed! i however dont know where deezul came up with this statement. i felt the song was more about the struggle of a hiphop artist tryna make it in the game, not about how he cant make a hit..the madman for his debut blew me away. beat is def FIRE!! cant wait to hear more shit from these two.

I hear you Z. It's getting old doesn't sound like its any older than two with the chipmunk sound. Somehow it works on this track and Madman did it right. Very nice debut.
