Dre Biggity may be a familiar face in the Booth – he brought us Wu-Tang homage CREAM just last week – but those not as tuned-in as our readers may need a heads-up. On newly-leaked mixtape cut Pump Ya Brakes, the West Coast up-and-comer gives those who haven’t gotten the memo fair warning that he has his pedal to the floor and he’s headed straight to the top of the game. D.C. beatsmith Best Kept Secret takes inspiration from his hometown’s distinctive brand of percussion-driven funk, delivering a Go-Go rhythm accented with orchestral stabs and atmospheric synths as the 22-year-old emcee flaunts his skills, his dedication to his craft, and his female appeal in three braggadocio-packed verses. With larger-than-life rhymes and banging boardwork to match, this track is sure to fulfill its intended purpose and get listeners buzzing, but is Dre Biggity truly the most focused and driven youngster in the business? We’ll get a better idea next Monday (Oct. 26th), when the rapper’s latest street album, The Diaper Dandy, hits the ‘net.

Man, I am loving that DC Go-Go sound! Dre's flow is very laid back, but it really works for him. His is two for two in my book.

Isn't that "hey its a best kept secret" just from some producer on soundclick? if not someone else whose name isn't "Best Kept Secret" has that same intro in all their tracks. Production was pretty good, overall was pretty good but nothing great.

Anyone else hearing a Neptunes influence on the beat? Almost sounds like an old Clipse record. Anyway, I've had my ear out for Dre Biggity since that CREAM record and he doesn't disappoint here. Definitely an up-and-comer.

Yup, Best you have never heard about! If anything, the Neptunes were influenced by the Go-Go sound. That has been around since the 70s.
