Dre Biggity - On the Comedown
Artist: Dre Biggity
Producer: Numonics
Album: Being Cool Doesn't Pay the Bills
Label: Unsigned
Success, like marijuana, is a powerful intoxicant and, judging by mixtape leak On the Comedown (making its world premiere in the Booth!), West Coast up-and-comer Dre Biggity‘s been enjoying the effects of both. Here, the Inland Empire native delivers a dreamy account of how he went from “being bored every night, to boarding these flights.” It may take a few listens to fully catch Biggity’s lyrical drift (a few hits off the peace pipe definitely couldn’t hurt either), but those who follow his rhymes down their winding track will be rewarded, and Numonics’ hazy instrumental, centered around woozy string samples and an odd, meandering bassline, sounds just as fresh the second and third time around. Whether you’re stoned or straight, this track is a strange and intriguing ride. If Biggity keeps turning in innovative jams like this one, he’s got nowhere to go but up. Numonics’ Being Cool Doesn’t Pay the Bills mixtape drops January 28, 2010, and fans can hear more from Dre Biggity on his Booth-sponsored Diaper Dandy mixtape, available for free download here.

I like dre biggitys flow. imo the production was the worst part of diaper dandy it was like the same thing the entire time. This on the other hand this production lets him shine this one saves him as a rapper that i like this is a great track.

It took me a few listens to really dig this record, but after three it won me over. The production work is the stand out feature to me (no offense to Dre).

Certified Banger!! Numonics comes with the layered Heat as usual. It's like 8-layers of Hot Grand Biscuits melting with Dre's Hot Butta verses. My only complaint is I don't have readily available blunt to compliment this dope a$$ track, lol!!

Being from the west coast it's always good to hear west coast up-n-comers but he didn't keep my attention for long with his boring delivery!!
The beat is good though so i'll give Numonics some cred.... |

That's the sickest name for a mixtape that ive ever seen, haha
Production is tight, though his flow is a little boring (though the actually lyrics are good). |

Richard nailed it, I wasn't ready for an off-center approach from Dre Biggity like this. It's definitely off the beaten path, but Dre's rhymes anchor it and keep it grounded, or as grounded as you can get when you're higher than Snoop in Amsterdam.

I like the beat more so than Dre's lyrical contribution on verses. But flow is good enough to keep your attention for 3 minutes. Rotation-Stuff.

"Smoking a bowl as i type"
First listen "ouch, my head hurts, too much noise, that beat is a bit repetitive. Second listen "Wow I don't remember that intro sounding so nice, and the hook is starting to grow on me" Final listen, I couldnt make it through, 2 1/2 stars |
