Drake - Trust Issues
Artist: Drake
Producer: 40 and Adrian X
Album: Unreleased
Label: YMCMB/Universal Motown
We interrupt your regularly-scheduled programming for a breaking story: Young Money megastar Drake has Trust Issues when it comes to women. Also, the sky is blue, water is wet and the Pope is Catholic. OK, so Drizzy’s romantic anomie has been the theme of much of his work. That doesn’t mean, however, that listeners won’t line up to hear about it all once again on this unreleased cut, debuted this morning on the artist’s blog. Noah “40” Shebib and Adrian X collide behind the boards, kicking the cut off with a musical quote from Khaled‘s I’m on One (which 40 co-produced). Over their moody synth arrangement, Drake reminds us that mega-stardom often leads to mega-insecurity, sounding self-aware yet emotionally paralyzed as he once again puts himself under the microscope: “I don’t really give a f*ck and my excuse is that I’m young / and I’m only getting older…” There’s no word on whether this joint is attached to any forthcoming project, but fans can stay tuned to DJBooth.net for everything Drizzy—including all the latest on sophomore set Take Care.

terrible. A minute and a half is just him singing his verse from "I'm on One"

Not the best I have heard from Drake. It sounds like a carbon copy of his previous work and that "I'm On One" prelude only added to its recycled feel.
The fact is if a regular Joe made this track it wouldnt be featured anywhere. Sorry Drake, I am a big fan but this doesnt cut it..... |

I personally like the song. Even though he's just singing his verse from "I'm On One" in the beginning. I think this was better than "I'm On One." I normally don't like 40's production but this was great.

I'm a big Drake fan; but more importantly I'm a fan of good music. With that being said I think he should have kept this song to himself.
I agree with Leon D, if any other person made this song it would have never made it on the booth. Cmon Drake your better than this. |

I actually like the song.. i'm not sayin it's the best song he made cuz we all heard betta!!! But it soundz like a mixture of "I'm on one" and "Marvin's Room" Then he got the rappin transitionin to singin at the end of the sentence. It's a decent song

Drake and I have something in common - we both have trust issues. Mine (the issues) stem from a trust that he won't make bad music - don't let me down, Drake.

i think alot of times, Drake gives his music to the other artists on the label for their singles etc. He did it with "I Want This Forever", and Baby's last 2 singles sound like they were original Drake songs. I think this pre-dates I'm On One...but Khaled needed a single. Am i the only one who sees that? With that said...I wish they let this dude make his own music...cause this is much more meaningful than I'm on One...

This seems like his original intention for the song, that's just my view though, this is sick.

Drake probably recorded this before the Khalid song, which is why Issues isn't being released as part of an album. Regardless of repeated lyrics, this song holds up its own with an entirely different mood. Quite possibly my favorite of the new Drake tracks to come out recently.

Was this guy ever happy? This is just not what Drake needs right now. He did the same songs on his debut album. Try something new man!

It isn't that bad, I'm just a little disappointed that it's not something different. This is distinctly Drizzy, other artists just can't execute the style as well... Come on Drake, surprise us on the next track

Honestly not really into romance novels, but drakes lyrics are always on point...plus i think every woman i know would probably gut punch me for hating on this one....Personally, it won't be in the work out ipod playlist, but definitely in the late night ride through the city one

surprised this is getting such low ratings. Its no banger, but its not like its a Fat Joe song. Wish he didn't spend the first part singing "I'm On One" but after that, its not bad. I'm glad that this hasn't been confirmed for his 2nd CD, cuz he can obviously do better.

As one of his biggest and most critical fans I can say I was disappointed with this track, but it just sounds like a throwaway track, much like 'Do It Now', 'One More Time' and all those Thank Me Now tracks. Just like DJ Z, I don't believe Drake will let us down.

with this track maybe if we didnt hear "im on one" and "marvin's room" this would have been rated better over-all however i like this track overall if this would have been any artist other than drake i dont he/she could have pulled it off but this is a song that would be in heavy rotation.

I don't care about if he was just repeating "Im On One" for the first verse, this song tops that one. CRAZY.

Personally i love the song, we all need a little half edited track to overplay without feeling like we've committed a crime against hip hop. Would i buy it? never in a billion years Drake. He's lucky he's already got a big name... that's the only reason people listen to it. The title captures the issue with drake ... i can't trust him to Do Right And Kill Everything. Seems like the 'Arab Money' is going to his head.
