Drake - Forever
Artist: Drake
Featuring: Kanye West , Lil Wayne , Eminem
Producer: Boi-1da
Album: More Than A Game Soundtrack
Label: YMCMB/Universal Motown
On Monday August 24th, 2008, T.I.‘s star-studded single, Swagger Like Us, leaked to the net. Featuring the likes of Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Lil Wayne the track initially drew mixed reviews from our Booth audience, but ultimately was accepted by the Grammy committee as one of last year’s best. Now, just a year and two days later, a similar mega-collaboration has hit our homepage. Forever, an unreleased Young Money record that originally leaked to the Internet in May, finds Wayne and West along for a second ride, with Eminem sitting shotgun to Drake over boardwork by Boi-1da. The record, which was completed, mixed, and mastered this past weekend in an effort to meet the deadline for inclusion on the soundtrack (available Sept. 22) to LeBron James’ forthcoming documentary, More Than A Game, will undoubtedly spark a heavy debate on which emcee holds the crown. As always, DJBooth.net won’t offer a shady answer; we’d rather our readers decide.

This joint is really great. I remember the leaked version from last year when Drake was really getting a buzz up with Lil Wayne.
This is a joint of epic proportions. In my opinion, (and I'm sure you will all agree), Eminem had the best verse. The delivery was undeniable. I thought Kanye and Eminem did their thing. I'm not hating on Lil Wayne, but I really feel the track could have did without him...lol (I've been verbally attacked on other blogs because of this). Overall, I'm not a big fan of the production (never have been), but this is too dope of a joint to not call it a BANGER. |

Holy sh*t, what a lineup!
Drake - He killed this! And his hooks are always legit. Kanye - Some dope lines on here. Sounded great on this production. Lil' Wayne - Uhh... dope, as usual. Eminem - Very nice surprise to see him featured on the track and he had a sick flow! Wow, this has got 5 stars written all over it. By the way - I know I've heard that hook before... was that on Drake's mixtape? |

Heard about this concept earlier today but wasn't expecting it to be released today (gotta love the booth!) But I was highly impressed with this! No way could it have lived up to the hype because expectations would be impossible (as we saw with Swagger Like Us) but I think this is one of those songs that can definitely stick around for a while. Everyone was equally impressive on this, and the beat was hard. Definitely gave off that sport-related kind of track.
Looking forward to an updated version of this that's supposively featuring another R&B artist on the hook. PS - Go Cavs! 09-10 NBA Champs! LOL |

Not feeling it. There's nothing special or even memorable. Drake just saying forever 5 times just gets annoying.
I wasn't impressed by any of the vereses either, Drake was alright but I've heard better. Lil Wayne is simply overrated and his voice is getting so annoying. Kanye and Eminem came the hardest with some dope lines but Kanye still sounds a litte corny and Em sounded out of place with all of these rappers. Really disappointed. Oh yeah, I'm not trying to sound like I'm hating or being overrcrital. You know how some people get defensive with their favorite rapper. |

Gotta say, I'm a little surprised to read people say this is way better than Swagger Like Us. Maybe it's just personal preference, but I'm not a particularly big fan of Forever's hook and/or production.
Regardless, anytime you get MCs of this caliber on one track it's a historical moment. Gotta give it to Drake, he holds his own next to some real heavyweights (though his "sprained ankle" reference is amusing considering his currently injured status). No doubt the real story here is Eminem - this is the flow I've been waiting for him to drop for years, the moment he proves he still belongs in the best rapper alive conversation. Literally just rewound his verse back five times, absolutely bananas. |

Eminem just ripped this harder than pretty much all the tracks on his own last album, real talk. E1 came correct, my only slight gripe was the production felt a bit under-stated (forgettable even) for a line-up of this caliber.

Shit their are a unbelievable amount of comments for this track (already).
The hook is tight from Drake, the production from Boi-1da is good, though probably didnt warrant such a all-star line up over it. Em>Kanye>Drake>Wayne If only Eminem would use more production like this on Relapse 2. This is much better then Swagger Like Us (I hate those auto-tune verses) |

Wow… this lineup kinda blew my mind .... Eminem was the clear top, and I think Drake, Wayne, and Kanye could be arranged in numerous ways and i’d be fine with it. I thought Kanye’s lyrics started off strong, but got weaker as it went along. But Kanye has killed every feature he has been on this year. With the rest it seemed to be the opposite, where the verse got better as it went along.
Em’s best were: they been waitin patiently for Pinocchio to poke his nose back into the game and they know, rappin’ll be the same as befo’ bashing in the brains of these hos and establishing a name as he goes the passion and the flame is ignited, you can’t put it out once we light it this sh*t is exactly what the f*ck that—im talking about when we riot Wayne's: And I would never stop, Like Im runnin from the cops Hopped up in my car and told my chauffeur to the top Life is such a f*cking roller-coaster then it drops but what should I scream for, this is my theme park My mind shines even when my thoughts seem dark Ye: Chasing the stardom’ll turn you into a maniac all the way in hollywood and I can’t even act they pull they cameras out and god damn they snap I used to want this thing forever, ya’ll can have it back Drake's: Dropped the mixtape that s*it sounded like a album who’da thought a country wide tour would be the outcome labels want my name besides the X like Malcolm Everybody got a deal, I did it without one Actually, unlike S.L.U all came correct. They all had there strong points (quotables) in there verses but im not a huge fan of this beat/hook in comparison with S.L.U ..... |

This is amazing! I'm glad Em's back with the undisputed flow. Kanye's delivery is always great and he's been on fire since he got back to rapping. And someone still had something "bad" to say about him: "he tries too hard"! -_-' yeah, yeah, yeah... talk about having nothing to point out against him!
@Z - Ha, that was nice: "DJBooth.net won’t offer a "shady" answer; we’d rather our readers decide" :p But I guess nobody read the blurb with such an epic record! @Mr Top Hat: Good job with the lyrics, thanx! @DjBooth family: Miss the booth activity, hope all members are having great vacations! At first I was really blown away by the verses...all 4 were fire..but after a second listen..I'm not really feeling this a song..it lacks synergy...just as SLU..4 great rappers don't neccesarily make a great song..

Em went hard on this one. I was a little disappointed because I knew the kid Drake could've put down something better. A collaboration with Slim Shadyy is something that the people have been waiting for, and I feel that Drake couldn't keep up with Em on this track.

this song really grows on u... tha production of this vs SLU- SLU>Forever... Howeva,in comparin tha verses of tha 2 songs, Foreve>SLU cuz on SLU Kanye and Wayne use autotune... Best verse on this in order: Em>Kanye>Drake>Wayne

I hate the hook but everything else is money. Drake, weezy, and kanye all take 2nd because Em is clearly back |
